Great decision. Andrade had zero chance and was just cannon fodder at that point. He should move back down to 160, imo, but this is also what happens when you talk trash and your best win is Willie Nelson.

i dunno, a lot of his fights are just drawn out heavy bag sessions. i didnt think the plant fight was that good. needs better opponents
I really like his style, I certainly don’t think he’s the best fighter right now though. He walks people down, throws combos, which are naturally hard, and he’s tough.

A virtual call out in Canello's direction.

Actually I agree with that. This was exciting for 3 rds. Place him with some better figures and I’m sure it would be a good watch.

Some of those shots DB landed were just plain brutal. The attrition was always going to tell but what a gutsy performance by Andrade.

Fairwell Showtime

Yeah, he just beat two top guys in Plant and Andrade. I'm not sure what else he has to do to show he's the division's best.

It's Benevidez and Canello, no doubt about that and there's not many better fights in boxing at the moment that one one.

Well, I'm glad I stayed up for boxing. I haven't felt the need to in a long time, but it was worth it. Benavidez/Canelo is the only fight to make right now at 168, but I'm sure we'll have Benavidez/Charlo and Canelo/Munguia before it comes to fruition. I hope I'm wrong here, though.

Yes, he has talked himself up so much over the last 5 years, without really backing it up.
This was his best opponent in my view and he came up way short.
He won the first couple while Bena figured him out, then he was in deep.
Good fight though, some guys learn from a loss and come back strong.

Poor Andrade. The first big fight he had and he lost most of the 6 rounds and got stopped.
What a waste of a career.

He should go back to middleweight and try to get a title and maybe even a unification fight, before the end of his career.
Probaly not gonna happen though.

Oh indeed. One of my favorite fighters with such talent and a bizarre style but career gone all wrong. Not sure who to blame for that. Now finally gets a chance and the opponent is David fornicating Benavidez. I only saw the highlights of the fight, he seemed to be throwing some nice quirky punches and combinations but not really landing anything. Levels. Don't actually know what I want to see him do next. Maybe Canelo will fight him now lol

Although Andrade was certainly brave and gave it his best shot, his tactics seemed a little strange.

Did he really underestimate Benavidez?

Reminded me of the famous Ali v Foreman fight where Ali came out flash and almost toyed with Foreman until he got seriously caught in Rd 2 and had to have a rethink.

Maybe Andrade would have lost in any scenario and it's just as well he was pulled out to fight another day.

If he wants to.

I’m not a fan of Andrade but fair play he gave it a go in there. He was easily overpowered though.
It’s a shame he chose to waste his career fighting nobody. I wonder if he will regret that.

It’s the same that no one wanted to fight him.
