its not just losing to haney, he looked dreadful vs dani zorrila and could barely land a punch. i thought he was very fortunate to get the split decision

cat has a style to recreate the troubles prograis has had vs guys who can box and move

I rewatched the Zorrila fight (extended highlights) and thought Regis did OK. Not great, but OK. After Zorrilla got clipped, and dished out his best to Prograis, he then spent 9 rounds on his bike, using his major height and reach advantages and still lost a close one. The part I feel that Regis has slipped is his timing. Power and stamina are still there. So I stand by my "a bit more than a puncher's chance" and maybe I'm wrong.

No - it’s at the biggest indoor arena in the U.K. as their first boxing show.

I think it’s sold ok in relation to the fighters on the show but the place will only be 25-30% full.

Prograis is on the slide agreed, but losing to Haney, and a peaking Josh Taylor is nothing to be ashamed of. And the Taylor fight was close.
Reggie hits hard, especially to the body. Taylor still says it's the hardest he's been hit. Catterall will have to work hard all fight because Prograis carries power late. Hardly washed up, and I'd give Prograis more than just a puncher's chance.

The Taylor fight was many years ago, it's his two most recent fights that suggest he's way over the hill. Losing to Haney has happened to every legal fighter he's faced so no shame in a loss but the way he was completely dominated for 12 rounds isn't a good sign. The Prograis who fought Josh would've given Haney a lot more to think about.

My comment wasn't so much a dig at Prograis who i like, it was more to question why Catterall isn't in a more meaningful fight. He's past 30 now, he's gotta strike while the iron's hot

He looks in good shape Prograis. Also Haney had a significant weight advantage (I think) on the night. Has Catterall ever been hurt? He will not come in as big as Haney.

and sometimes people talk about light weights, welters etc like those are small guys. but reality is many of them are walking around between fights at 160-170 and are more in shape than the average guy at those weights. put on the same spare tire as your average bloke and theyd be even heavier

The most I did was lose 10lbs in 24 hours, then put it straight back on, most of that was water

nah, not you, but it is such a different landscape today with weights.perhaps its the area of boxing where things are most different compared to generations from decades back.

Couldn't and wouldn't have done it with the same day.
