comes across more like john fury there
davis is annoying but he was just giving an opinion shared by pretty much everyone who saw the fight, john an emotional diva, only invites people who kiss his/his son's ass i guess

It was close on the cards for me, I still had Allen winning 95-94. Fisher clearly won the first four rounds and the 10th for me. Have to give Fisher respect for not giving up but I can’t see him massively improving or causing too many waves. Wardley would flatten him.

I have always thought Fisher’s dad was capable of turning into this once his son loses a few times and the game wears off.

It's all fun and games until someone comes along and upsest the apple cart.
I never did buy the Fisher hype, and as brave as he was, he shipped a lot of punishment and was badly marked up. If he was going places he should be dealing with Allen. I'm sure he can improve but the narrative is now building to a rematch wth Allen in 12 months time.

I don’t think anyone rates Fisher above maybe being a British title challenger, English title winner sort of level. Maybe I’m wrong.
A lot on here definitely under rated Dave Allen tho. I won a lot of money on him KOing Nick Webb but lost a bet on him against Bracamonte (bet on him to win fairly early I think.) Obviously we now know he was inconsistent with his training, he probably trained very well for the Lenroy Thomas rematch but that obviously ended on a cut before a decision could be made. He obviously trained very badly for Bracamonte and rightly ended up with a head like Donkey Kong afterwards. But yeah it’s no surprise to me that AJ says he has such a great chin.

What’s so good about the Fisher household anyway?

The dad really needs to turn his lifestyle around, he was 51 a couple of months ago, he is in dangerously unhealthy shape.

Supposedly he’s been losing weight for a year-18months but I’ve often joked he looks no different.
Supposedly he has lost a lot of stones in weight but somehow to me he looks no different.

the dad celebrates eating himself to death on social media.
I don't know him, but I hope he stops doing this.
agree with others that Fisher is probably only British level at best, but he's pretty much said this himself. he's given us some fun fights and he did show heart in the Allen fight, even if he did lose. he's out there giving it a go, which if you're a big tough lump like him why not. if he uses the jab more and doesn't load up on every shot he could go further, but then it might not be such a show.

I like The GAD, I've never not seen him stand his ground when someone puts it on him.

Deontay Wilder shat it when GAD stood his ground.

GAD once through a mean looking leg strike that missed Froch's schnozel by a few inches.
He's not my cup of tea though.

Yeah I have to say I've never been a fan. Very much an MMA journo who's piggy backed off the social media resurgence of boxing.

He's been at The Telegraph for thirty years plus. He's more than served his time for boxing (and MMA).

I was in a gym 24 years ago and Smith came in to interview lads, he was relatively new then but perhaps a few years in, I suppose. He's another one I don't mind.

I didn't interact with him, Sean. He wasn't there to see me. Seemed professional, just wanted to film his bit and then get out of Dodge.

Never knew that , I really don't mind him , gets a lot of stick from lots of people. He's so enthusiastic about the sport , growling aside I don't get it for the larger part.
People talk about his commentary being biased towards the house fighter , I think there's not many that don't do that .

I’m always happy to stand corrected. I didn’t know he had been a genuine boxing journalist for that long I thought he was just an mma journo who had transitioned across and got lucky palling up with IFL at the opportune moment.
Some won’t, but some may be surprised to hear I’ve never been a telegraph reader so that will be why his writing will have passed me by.

When he started getting vocal in MMA it seemed obvious he didn't know his stuff in the MMA scene. He is a chancers rather than a quality journalist. Typical for a Telegraph employee I guess.

Def an oddball, full of himself, thinks he is far more important than he is, and a bit of a dick.
I'm sure he loves boxing though and is a nice bloke
Perhaps he could team up with Adam Smith.....
