I got the impression is still hasn’t been fully signed off that it’s 10 rounds.coneye wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 03:43 Its being milked to death . It’s another case of poor PR from Boxxer. They’ve had quite a few instances of it where actions they’ve made have reflected really badly on their fighters.
In this case it’s coming across that Whittaker is scared of doing 12 rounds.
Frank is playing it as he always would. Makes Cameron look better as he’s willing to fight any distance and keeps making Boxxer look a bit incompetent.

No offence to Liam at all, because he comes across as a top fella, but I think you're going to see a much improved Whittaker next week.

I mean, this is all just in my head and I have nothing to back it up. Psychologically, I think Whittaker got the shock of a life time last time and will realise he needs to up his game significantly, if he's going to achieve what he wants to. Plus Andy Lee is an excellent trainer and just as importantly, he's excellent as a corner man. Also, Ben has had a lot of flack for both the performance and ending of the last fight and that will also up the motivation.mark a h wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 06:25What makes you think that?keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 06:18 No offence to Liam at all, because he comes across as a top fella, but I think you're going to see a much improved Whittaker next week.
Plus, and this is just my opinion, but I think we saw the best of Liam last time out. I could be completely wrong, but I don't think he'll be quite as good this time, for the opposite reasons to the ones above.

What Ben brings too the table . Speed . Evasive ability. Confidence all worked very very well against hand picked slower opponents . BUT it did.nt work against a tough opponent who knew how to handle that . So Ben needs something else and I doubt he.s got that in him . I
M sure he will come with a bit more . He.ll need to because when the tricks don't work . He
Ll have to show something deeper and I do t think it's in him . He.s sooner or later gonna get took into the trenches
Then he will want out . ANDY LEE can teach him lots but you can't teach heart

Whittaker has to learn to get down and fight , he didn't learn a thing in his early fights and now has to learn to adapt to his opponent. I'm not sure he can, you can't teach heart or having big ballsconeye wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 08:39 What Ben brings too the table . Speed . Evasive ability. The antics of Whitaker at the end last time may or may not have robbed Cameron of a stunning victory (hard to see how Whitaker was going to turn things back round), but what’s equally annoying is that Cameron should potentially be going into this rematch with an even greater psychological edge, had the first fight been allowed to play out.
Maybe Whitaker will be significantly fitter for this one. He’ll need to be.

That bodyshot that Liam landed last time before he got dragged over the ropes is the one that really looked like it bothered Whittaker, let's hope he can deliver similar.

I watched the day in the life typw thing with Whittaker and he seems ok but then came across terribly in the Gloves Are Off. Cameron is so refreshing seems totally unfazed and zero nastiness or needless ego. I really hope Cameron wins. Whittaker seems very unsure of himself and deflective, although getting Andy Lee in your corner can never be a bad thing, although suspect Whittaker may be one of those fighters who does not listen.

Seen someone post a comment that the bell had rung for round 5 before he dragged him over the ropes and therefore should have been scored , if true Liam definitely got jobbed.

Been looking forward to this more than the Eubank Benn fight for sure.
This is going to be the big test for Whittaker to bring something more or different.
Big problem when someone is moved quickly is the amount of scrutiny and pressure a green fighter comes under.
Most guys 7-8 fights in are quietly building up way lower down on the card.
Anyway my money's on Liam and I hope we get a fair decision if it comes to that, although I think a more confident Liam might stop Ben.

I got a distinct feeling of determination but lack of confidence coming from Ben . He has so much natural ability it's a shame. his early fights have not reflected it one little bit instead of building up his power . And durability it s just give him an inflated over confidence where he could show off and humiliate opponents terrible up bringing off a seriously good talent . Let's see if Andy Lee can do something with him . Remembering Andy is showing all the signs of becoming a real top trainer . He.s not a magician

Let’s see.
I doubt Lee will let him fukc around.
Surely he knows, if he wants to progress to the next level, he NEEDS to win this.

I hope Lee does'nt let him fook around , not just this fight but all fights , for me its always a bad sign , A fighter who can fook about like he does is a fighter not being pushed and therfore NOT LEARNING his trade , a trainer who allows it is not the boss , he's just there to carry the bucket . .Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Apr 2025, 01:54 Let’s see.

Which is why , i'm not so sure Ben can pull it off this time , his natural attributes has to be his speed , but all his prior learning fights have been a waste of time , he learnt NOTHING beating guys easily and not stepping up gradually , he's been the boss and learnt SWF

They are scared of looking foolish, so they try and come off ultra-serious all the time and ultra-in-control.
Which leads to long winded statements and convoluted narratives, which in the end only make them look worse. It makes them look rattled.
The correct approach here would have been humour. Laugh it off, dismiss it.
"That's the last time we let the interns have a go at anything. Yeah someone made a typo, Cameron and Frank used that to put their hand in our pocket, the little scoundrels. But it's fine, this is likely the last big payday of liams career and we're happy to donate to a good cause and also Frank's retirement fund. It's ten rounds on April 20th and that's that. Ben settles the score and moves on to bigger things, the end."
Instead you've had Shalom out there being all explicatory and defensive, which has just been more meat for the media grinder. They really do need to learn that saying less is the best bet.
