I guess it’s levels, obviously some drugs are highly addictive and cause a lot of major issues if you get hooked. But yeah long term alcohol use isn’t great either and hospitals more likely full of people with problems linked to drinking than people taking drugs.
Nothing to do with levels, Alcohol is taxed to high heaven so it’s legal. Take away drink and crime rate falls greatly all these people saying drug dealers are scum need to get a reality check
I meant alcohol and cigarettes for most people don’t cause them the same level of addiction as drugs can. If you take heroin and get hooked your life will change for the worse very quickly. That’s what I meant by levels. But yes as I said in an earlier post the government pick and chose what is legal and what isn’t so maybe legalising drugs and taxing it is the way to go.

Ultimately drug dealing is the tip of the iceberg, we can all justify things when it suits us, it's a bit of fun, it's my money, it's my body, I'm not hurting anyone etc but there's always more to it. Normally organised crime, kids being forced into dealing out of fear for their lives or people getting stabbed or killed by rival dealers without mentioning what goes on before it's even sent to our shores. Some people will happily buy knocked off goods from some bloke in a pub, not considering he probably burgled someone the night before to get that stuff but it's ok because it wasn't their mum or dad he burgled. Some blokes will often happily watch porn or use sex workers and not consider that many of the women are trafficked, abused, have mental health problems or addiction issues. And of course they wouldn't want their own mum or sister doing it but it's ok for someone else's daughter to do it. We all pick and chose what is "ok" and what isn't though, basically we are all hypocrites

Great points. All matters are so much more complicated than most appreciate. Cocaine production also has an awful effect on local populations and their environment, and pollutes local nature. I always found it odd that individuals who seem to be very moral about poverty and the environment have no problem buying cocaine.

If you legalise drugs, a lot of criminals will be out of work overnight.
They still need to earn, and will find another tickle, perhaps they will retrain and go into internet fraud.....

After hearing that on the podcast, the next story I saw was Hearn talking about AJ's next fight potentially being in Ghana.
But then there have always been rumours of AJ's next fight being in Africa, that never come to anything. So I don't know if that adds any weight to the idea he's avoiding the UK or not.

He’s a very well liked and respected man in the eyes of the wider sporting public. He’s worth tens maybe hundreds of millions of pounds. He’s not daft - why would he got involved in any nonsense and jeopardise all that ?

He probably knows a few nawty characters, they are always sniffing around top boxers but I doubt he's involved in actual crime, way too successful with way too much to lose, just think of the sponsorship deals he's got. Too smart for that.
