Tyson Fury rules out Andy Ruiz Jnr for warm up fight, Nelson Hysa in play
Tyson Fury has shed some light on his next opponent ahead of his long awaited clash with Anthony Joshua.
Fury and Joshua have finally signed on the dotted line to square off later this year. Both have agreed to take on an interim bout before finally fighting in November. Joshua will take on Kristian Prega on July 25 while Fury has teased a bout in August on social media.
Fury confirmed in an interview with IFL TV that he would compete in a warm up bout in July or August. Fury had previously claimed that he would compete on August 1 in Dublin, Ireland, where his long term promoter allegedly already has a show. However, Fury recently teased a team up with Zuffa Boxing head Dana White and declared recently that Saudi boxing financier Turki Alalshkih would be his promoter until the end of his career, casting doubt over that date.
There was speculation that Fury could take on former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jnr – who has recently signed with Zuffa Boxing – but Fury has put an end to those rumors.
“Andy Ruiz has been contacted as a warm up fight, because that is all he is the little fat bum dosser,” said Fury. “Although he knocked out [Anthony Joshua] he wouldn’t come close to me. I’d punch his head right in. But they asked for ridiculous numbers, numbers that they can’t generate. This isn’t a stadium show, this is a keep busy fight. Andy Ruiz priced himself out, as did a few other people. We’re still searching for an opponent."
There is also talk of Fury facing the 24-0 (22 KOs) Nelson Hysa who is signed with Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.
“Nelson Hysa is one of the guys that has been spoken about,” said Fury. “He's a highly ranked, undefeated knockout artist. He is one of the guys that has been spoken of as well.”

Tom Schwarz, Otto Wallin, now Hysa
Fury loves these obscure Europeans with padded records for his comeback/warmup fights.
Would have been nice to see a British lad like Adeleye or Dacres get a chance.
