I've said it on here a few times, I think Reform peaked a while ago so the result doesn't surprise me.
I'm sure the Burnham factor helped Labour (as did the truly awful Reform candidate) but I think a lot of people are realising that Reform are a one-trick pony inasmuch as immigration is all they've got.
Going forward, I'm sure they'll still get a lot of votes but that doesn't necessarily mean loads of seats (look at the Lib Dems).
Two big by-elections, two seconds. I wouldn't be surprised to see a pattern developing.
Burnham has a good reputation doesn't he? Maybe more so than Farage. Farage like you say might have peaked, and if Burnham does oust Starmer at some point in the next year, and Burnham tackles the issues of a Labour voter, this may be the turn around the country needs.
Burnham just has to tackle immigration, that, in my opinion is the biggest issue in British politics and will see a PM through.
Good luck to Burnham, I hope he sets about dethroning Starmer now, and tackles the issues head on. It could very well be the end of the Reform snowball if Burnham gets the jobs done.

Burnham is going to try and unseat Starmer immediately never mind the next year.
I think you're right on immigration though and I reckon Labour would get re-elected again (easily IMO) if they actually got sensible about the matter. Go to Youtube and listen to the Labour peer Maurice Glasman, I think he's spot on.
Unfortunately, however, the Labour Party is now too full of lame brains, naive idealists, self-interested free loaders and silly little girls to do anything sensible so Lord knows how it all pans out. The next government will, I suspect, probably be some sort of coalition. Possibly Labour/Green/Plaid/SNP. Which would be a disaster in terms of immigration.

Burnham won on the sole issue of trying to give Starmer a p45. I wouldn't take much from this by-election other than the desperation to get rid of that wetwipe in no.10.

Maybe not putting up a complete idiot would have helped Reform’s chances? But unfortunately for them, that’s all they’ve got

There's something in that. Frankly, I don't want somebody like that candidate being my MP, whatever his politics.

You're really grasping at straws now Roy.
In what sense? I thought Reform would win ashton in makerfield a while back, he's such a poor candidate with such baggage I'm confident they won't know. I think he'll more than likely step down in the next few weeks, he's not built for it.
It's always been in the bag for Burnham despite what Fraymondo and the media were saying, which means Starmer is out by Christmas latest

Plus the Manchester mayoralty will be up for grabs for Reform.
As i correctly predicted and on the Burnham thread etc

I doubt Reform will get mayor of Manchester.

Starmer pack your bags son, your time is up.

He'll toss in a few hand grenades before he goes but nothing that can't be undone.
Burnham will have his honeymoon period as PM and top the polls for a short while but then reality will set in, along with the boats... one thing is for sure, the remoaners hope of ever rejoining the EU has now gone for a burton, it would be fitting for Starmer to go next week on the historic 10th year anniversary of the glorious Brexit vote.

Depends on the candidates as discussed earlier in the thread, hopefully Liebour pick wallybrain Gary Neville as their candidate and his comments about white men and the British flag keeps being brought up

Too little, too late.... plus it won't work
Along with the EU's Pact on Migration and Asylum for each EU member country to take their "fair share" kicking in, I always said it would be the thing that ultimately destroys them . It's cooking along nicely for the EU to be finished by 2030.

Starmer: "Please Andy, let me get a couple more freebie holidays in as PM, I promise to go by Conference...hopefully that will give me more time to somehow get rid of you"

Mandy and Andy both have sealed Starmer's fate along with Farage walloping him at the Locals of course.

Demographics have changed fast in Manchester. It's also a traditionally left-wing city. I really don't think Reform will win.
