Burnham has a good reputation doesn't he? Maybe more so than Farage. Farage like you say might have peaked, and if Burnham does oust Starmer at some point in the next year, and Burnham tackles the issues of a Labour voter, this may be the turn around the country needs.
Burnham just has to tackle immigration, that, in my opinion is the biggest issue in British politics and will see a PM through.
Good luck to Burnham, I hope he sets about dethroning Starmer now, and tackles the issues head on. It could very well be the end of the Reform snowball if Burnham gets the jobs done.

Burnham is going to try and unseat Starmer immediately never mind the next year.
I think you're right on immigration though and I reckon Labour would get re-elected again (easily IMO) if they actually got sensible about the matter. Go to Youtube and listen to the Labour peer Maurice Glasman, I think he's spot on.
Unfortunately, however, the Labour Party is now too full of lame brains, naive idealists, self-interested free loaders and silly little girls to do anything sensible so Lord knows how it all pans out. The next government will, I suspect, probably be some sort of coalition. Possibly Labour/Green/Plaid/SNP. Which would be a disaster in terms of immigration.

Burnham won on the sole issue of trying to give Starmer a p45. I wouldn't take much from this by-election other than the desperation to get rid of that wetwipe in no.10.

In what sense? I thought Reform would win ashton in makerfield a while back, he's such a poor candidate with such baggage I'm confident they won't know. I think he'll more than likely step down in the next few weeks, he's not built for it.

Starmer pack your bags son, your time is up. He'll toss in a few hand grenades before he goes but nothing that can't be undone.
Burnham will have his honeymoon period as PM and top the polls for a short while but then reality will set in, along with the boats... one thing is for sure, the remoaners hope of ever rejoining the EU has now gone for a burton, it would be fitting for Starmer to go next week on the historic 10th year anniversary of the glorious Brexit vote.

Along with the EU's Pact on Migration and Asylum for each EU member country to take their "fair share" kicking in, I always said it would be the thing that ultimately destroys them . It's cooking along nicely for the EU to be finished by 2030.

Demographics have changed fast in Manchester. It's also a traditionally left-wing city. I really don't think Reform will win.

Oust Starmer, bash a few popular initiatives and proposals out and then go to the country ASAP. I think Burnham would win a general election right now. The media like him and his man of the people schtick is working. For now. Burnham won't ever be more popular than over the next few weeks.
