Certainly regrettable actions from the police, who are as well known for their incompetence as they are for their institutional racism. So suggesting the police are some kind of 'woke' organisation due to this incident, is both ludicrous and an offensive politicization of this senseless murder.

The attacker was illegally carrying a knife and the guy who died didn't racially abuse his murderer.

He wasn't carrying a knife when the police arrived. He'd given it to his mum.
We don't know, and never will know, if the lad racially abused him.

I'm not sticking up for the murderer or the police, by the way. I hope this scumbag serves life and that we will be satisfied with the iopc review and any sanctions against the officers. It's just that facts are important.

Your second sentence is partially correct and partially incorrect. In New Jersey for example, the "ideological radical activist movement" is alive and well. In Tennessee, not so much.

I do not favor the movement regarding children. In that way, I'm more Tennessee, than New Jersey. But as a 'classical liberal,' I believe, adults should be able to do what they want if they pay for it.
