If he wins from here I’d be shocked.

Kasparian sounds like an Armenian name eh.

Ward looks absolutely enormous next to Kasparian, I'm baffled that they are (approximately) the same weight.

I think it’s still going on, I switched off, even the commentators sounded a bit bored

Mckenna won virtually every round that I saw,
Technically brilliant, dull as dishwater

That's very harsh.
Aaron made it more of a fight than he had to, he could have kept it at long range and picked him off. Olisha's a strong guy, but he does seem very limited in his boxing. I had it 118-110 to McKenna.

117-111 McKenna, cagey opener but Oliha had a strong 2nd caught upright McKenna with a couple of big overhand rights but McKenna took over, imposed himself on Oliha, it was a bit scrappy and Oliha was still landing as well but McKenna was busier, more aggressive and forcing Oliha back more than getting backed up himself, Oliha strong and hard to hit clean but McKenna just worked him over and was a clear winner

Just finished watching on catchup, thought it was a bit of a dull main event tbh, but might be due to all the beers I’ve had.

McKenna & Bentley for a Unified (don't laugh) fight with Walsh v Liddard on the undercard.

Same and I didn't touch a drop.
He's not going to be a big ticket seller but a very gifted fighter nonetheless.

This might be the 2 most obscure fighters meeting for a “world middleweight title” of all time
I had no idea this was a "proper" world title fight, assumed it was for the Zuffa belt.
I will say, for all the criticism of Zuffa, I like that they didn't mention that it was for the IBF belt once in their broadcast.

A competent & controlled performance from McKenna.
Good job the Irish fans whipped up an atmosphere otherwise it would hardly have felt like a world title was on the line.
Credit McKenna for his skill, but Oliha lacked imagination and the ability to make tactical adjustments when he was clearly heading for a wide points loss.

Yeah I think you’re right but his family moved from Russia apparently. He was born in Holland though.

Decent card, so nice to enjoy a series of fights with a knowledgeable sensible commentator in Andy Clarke as opposed to Smith’s screaming performative nonsense on the other channel.
Enjoyed Ward v Kaspa but despite him getting a second wind and coming through a sticky patch to win it well, it’s hard to understand why the comms were eulogising over how talented he is. Doubt he’d beat any of the raft of British light heavies
In the main fights Mckenna and to a lesser extent Walsh were clearly students of the Katie Taylor school of hugging and holding. Surely there isnt such a paucity of talent in the MW division that these two are world class ? They both look pretty limited.

So how is there an IBF belt being fought on a Zuffa show? And surely if they were good enough, they would have had them fighting for the Zuffa belt?

McKenna, Walsh, Mosley jr and Katzourakis are 4 decent rated 160 guys fighting with Zuffa. Mckenna vs Walsh and Mosley vs Katzourakis. Winner vs winner with that zuffa belt on the line. With this system, that belt would mean something at the end IMO.
