No slander on Vogts record, the man knows his football and as you said he is probably in a better position than Beckenbaur.
His record in Germany is second to none, Berti knows German football inside out and he knows how to motivate a German team unfortunately it didn't work on the Scottish mentality.
We are a shit football nation but our press has us winning everything in sight, almost as bad as the English media has England winning everything. However the mentality in Germany is different. Maybe its me but you don't portray your sporting heroes as superstars and have a god given right to win everything in sight.
Look at Schumacher, Becker, the world cup winning teams you have produced. They have been produced through good team work,
There is no real individual superstar in the German team yet I bet they go further that any Britsh team at the World Cup Finals because they have the synergie to work as a unit and not individual nancy boys who are vastly over-rated and over paid.
I have always admired German football and always put money on them to reach the last 4 in any competition because that team spirit is there. They work together as a single unit and that is why they achieve great results even when they had a squad of players all over 30 yrs old,
