I agree he's not in Sanchezs league but he did beat some world class fighters. He was a very good boxer but didn't reach the heights of greatness that many (and himself) had predicted.D1983 wrote:Naz hasn't beat a great fighter he fought no one but Barrera, and lost. I also agree, but not being in Sanchez' league isn't something to be ashamed about, few fighters are in at the level of Sanchez in my opinion. Hamed beat a few old champs and decent contenders, Sanchez beat Hall of Famers, many future champs, and top 10 contenders. To say Hamed was way past his prime at 27 is inaccurate. Sanchez beats any version of Hamed fairly easily in my opinion. I think Gomez and Lopez would beat Hamed also considering Barrera beat him so easily.silkov wrote:I agree he's not in Sanchezs league but he did beat some world class fighters. I would like to ask britpak if he has seen Sanchez fights yet?
Let me say Hamed did fight a few good fighters. But at the same time he fought a lot at the right time, he thought Barrera was their for the picking and he was wrong.
Ok, a lot has been talked about Hameds power and yes he had great power when fighters were their to get hit. And I find it ironic how someone said, if you stand in front of Naz you get knocked out, funny. Wayne Muccullough and the Mexican Cesar Soto both stood in front of Naz and Naz couldn't dent either one. Naz even started wrestling Soto to the ground, cause Soto kept coming forward and walking through Naz punches.
Also Naz win over Bungu is WAY over rated. Bungu wasn't their to win. Plus Bungu got a gift descision in his fight with Danny Romero, in this fight the ref was helping out Bungu with instructions, following the Romero win Bungo got a title shot with Hamed.
I aggree that Hamed got rich to early and succus to fast and got carried away with his power. But no way does he beat Salvador Sanchez.
Sanchez was a very smart fighter, not easy to hit, I don't know why somone would think that Sanchez was easy to hit. Yes, he wasn't afraid to get hit, his punches were all in a flawless fashion, with an expressionless face, Naz wouldn't know if he hit Sanchez since Sanchez wouldn't even flinch when/if Naz hits Sanchez.
And in all honesty this fight would have made for a great hype fight and probley ending in Gomez v. Sanchez fashion, with Sanchez dominating Naz and probably knocking out Naz, I could see Naz brother stopping this fight.
