Don't think you can blame Barwick. It was the lack of decent fighters and fights availbale after Warren defected to Sky. Hearn tried his luck with Eamonn Loughranm and Herbie Hide but shit don't sell. Same is probably going to happen soon with Sky.

Apart from the Hatton-Tszyu and Calzaghe-Lacy, Warren has also been serving plenty of rubbish. Imagine if he hadn't put on those two big nights, what would everyone's opinion be of him then based on the shows he's put on from around, say 2004 to today?

I remember that Nunn fight with Crawford Ashley.. Painful to watch as Ashley winced and doubled up as Nunn virtually ignored the head and targeted the body... By the 6th Ashley couldn't hold his arms up and Nunn finished him off....

Poor old Crawford, I saw Ole Klementsen spark him out cold inside 2 rounds (on ITV too I think).. That was a nasty KO, Ashley was out cold, twitching on the canvas for a while..... Ole just kept swinging his right hand and eventually hit the jackpot as Ashley struggled to keep him off..

Nunn was some fighter though... Didn't he get sent down in America a year or two ago for drugs offences??

Yes, but as I recall, wasn't the reason that Warren defected in the first place because ITV were offering dogshit money. I heard they offered only 50k for one of Naz's fights.

Crawford came in way too light for that fight so was always going to be susceptible to the body.

Nunn got banged up after a police sting operation caught him with a kg or two of coke.

Could never warm to Nunn; the best thing for boxing was him getting polaxed by Toney I reckon

yeah painful night for ashley that one.

nunn was a class act in his early days. check out his fight with frank tate, he was terrific in that fight.

Anyone remember Darren Corbett's fights, he was an exciting fella. Had some great KO's.

His KOs were great but his celebrations in the ring after them weren't so hot.

Another good KO was James Oyebola KO'ing Clifton Mitchell, that was a one punch finish, I remember that Mitchell was a bit of a showman, used to come into the ring wearing a bowler hat and cape, good entertainment .

yep, Crawford was a pretty big light heavy and probably had no business at s/m. on top of that, Ashley and team still maintain that an overweight Nunn cheated on the scales, making Ashley appear to be overweight and getting asonishingly weak from losing the rest of the poundage

All joking and back-stabbing aside. Warren is a fantastic promoter. Its a very very tough business and on the whole he does a better job than anyone else.
