I know plenty of lower rung pros who hold down full time jobs. Boxing pays for the family holiday or christmas...its a bonus to their income, not the sole source.

I think you will find that Holden gives alot of his money to the Church which is commendable but obviously affordable.

Burnett's management team has three participants. Hamilton does the nuts-and-bolts day-to-day work and is the expert on the business of boxing. New York attorney Gary Friedman provides legal expertise. Steve Geppi (a Baltimore businessman who owns several auction houses and is one of the largest comic-book distributors in the world) is the money guy.

Pursuant to contract, Burnett receives a stipend of $2,000 a month. Management also pays $1,000 a month for weight-training, $1,000 a month for training camp expenses, and other boxing-related outlays such as the cost of sparring partners. All of these expenses are advances against future earnings.

In return, management will receive thirty percent of each Burnett purse of one million dollars or less. The percentage will be adjusted downward on a sliding scale to as little as fifteen percent on purses above that number. So far, Hamilton and company haven't taken their share of any purse, but Burnett has been required to pay Turner his ten-percent trainer's fee. For the Ottah fight, Burnett's purse would be $800. The amount was irrelevant. It was the learning experience and the expected "W" on his record that were important.
