If he was ruined I dont think he would have done so good against Mosely in their first bout.... Trinidad just exposed Vargas as good but nothing really special.... I dont think Vargas showed a tremendous drop in ability after the trinidad bout... the fact that Vargas did take a beating from Trinidad is because he was basically a rather one dimentional fighter....barry wrote:>>> dont really see the Trinidad fight as having ruined Vargas, <<<
Are you serious? Vargas was a very used-up fighter after Trinidad punished him who due to his toughness was still able to do fairly well. He had good defensive skills prior to the Trinidad bout...not great, but he was a pretty solid all-around fighter...Trinidad just ruined him...as he did with David Reid. A little too much too soon for Vargas!
Reid was another fighter hyped up into something he wasnt....
