Lewis also did'nt fight Byrd or Ruiz.Surely that's a better argument if you are insisting Lewis dodged fights?
These two did actually earned themselves a mandatory shot,which baby Joe certainly did'nt!
As for the seven figure pay day Lewis missed out on...you are talking about a man who is worth over a hundred million probably,so why would money be a factor?
Lewis even said himself,he could'nt get motivated for the likes of Byrd or Ruiz,which in truth would have been mis matches and straight forward fights.Now,considering that both Byrd and Ruiz were(still are)better fighters than baby Joe,you might understand why Lewis did'nt even acknowledge this call out.
Mesi was'nt a mandatory challenger,he would'nt have made Lewis a great deal richer(mainly becuase,only about 0.5% of genuine boxing fans would have beleived Mesi had any chance of victory)and Mesi certainly was'nt going to do anything for anyone's legacy.
