I meant from all of us lol. I was never convinced by audley since he fought Negus - right then i knew he would not step up when it counted.
I've been an Audley basher from day 1 but it was sad to see the big man dumped like that. He was a bit unlucky in there, he couldn't have got caught with a worse shot.
Thoroughly impressive, confident display from Sprott though.

Watching replay again, i see your point, he did a bit of a zoo dance, but by the time vann let him go he looked 90% again, i certainly dont think he was in danger. And if Katsidis was that fcuked, would he have been lumping the rest of the round like he did?
Quite right, he didn't even touch down. He probably thought if he had taken a knee for the 8 count, Vann would have stopped it, the way he was helping Earl.

You have got to be kidding me. He touched down backwards with both gloves on the canvas. He got up and was very shaky on his legs (they were gone at that point). Earl was already hurt and hadn't enough to take him out and probably hasn't got the power or the instinct even if he wasn't hurt. Katsidis got his senses back relatively quickly but whilst he may have been 90% at that point he may find himself in bigger trouble in WORLD class company. Good luck to him, I think he is a very exciting fighter along the lines of Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini and hope he creates as much excitement tonight in future fights.

i still think that it was a mater of time before earl went down again, i dont know about katsidis' stamina, maybe u r right there, but i saw it as similar to munyai-powers, IN THAT it would be dangerous to leave earl in on the assumption that he might win and he did not look hurt at the time
There was definitely concern about Earl. But I felt Katsidis had punched himself out after that hectic round when he had Earl pinned on the ropes. But it might have been very bad had Earl been allowed to go on. No doubt people were thinking about Benn-McClellan as well, with the McClellan benefit night etc.

if katisidis looked tired, Earl looked like he had had the shit kicked out of him, and if it had gone on, i think either one of them was in danger, too much heart for their own good. Earl was cut, in trouble, and was not hurting Katsidis as much as he was being hurt. yes he staggerd him, but Katsidis was teeing off on him big time. yes, katsidis was tired and it might have slowed down in the middle rounds due to that, but is a L worth risking health for? IMO, Earl was not going to win that, so It might as well have been stopped. I realise that other people might see it differently, but i think vann let it go on, gave earl a chance, but the pattern did not change, and Earl was resigned to go out, he did not argue with his trainer
I agree, no one wants to see anyone injured. It just seems strange that Earl was able to fight back so well, and then get retired by his corner. Eames threw the towel in and had Vann agreed, Earl wouldn't have been able to stage the finest rally of his career.

Earl wants to fight (he wanted to fight not box anyway which started the problems), his corner can see he will lose, his corner has more perspective than Earl does, they are removed from it, they arent getting hit in the head

this is something that American viewers would get more upset about, IMO. ie not getting the "highlight reel" KO and spectacular closure.
