why did u rate him rocket.
he started with all that hype and then hit a serious brick wall in the states.
he's had some patchy showings recently and looked dodgy in the closing stages of fights.
this was his biggest tester i thought.
and he got owned bigtime.

Lovely left hand and great skills, some of the wins in the States were good, he owned Pickering...
He always liked to FIGHT too much, he got fucked up tonight because of it..shame

Look at Dunnes arms waving in the air, no defence at all.

I've never been convinced either but i've only seen Dunne 3 or so times before but he always seemed to have a big size advantage over his opponents. Tonight was no exception. Is weightmaking a reason for his lack of stamina and perhaps punch resistance?

Is there a re-match in the contract guys?

but who is pickering in the big scheme of things.
lost his british title to hunter.
hunter gets owned in 5 rds for the ibf title.
dunne beats pickering.
then gets taken all the way by an average fighter last time out.
he's never had it rocket.

Dunne was found out, It was on the cards if you had watched his last 3 fights.
We were all on at 66/1

No idea...not sure a rematch would be a great idea, may need to get his confidence back..

had to laugh at richie then.
"dunne was working quite well early on"
ffs, he landed one jab i think.
still think the ref should have counted the 3rd knockdown.
leave no doubts and all that.

If you were on fair play, but your right bout dunne, likes too showboat he looked very skinny compared to Kiko, Kiko demolished Dunne, they called him a mini-tyson i couldnt argue with them

Yeah there could be damage done there that dunne mightn't come back from

From what I had seen of Dunne I thought he was a very skilled operator with a good range of punches.
He came up against a big puncher and got caught cold. That happens in boxing. The trouble for him is that for all his nice range of skills the SBW title holders are deep with strong fighters that will walk through that and try to bang their opponent out.
It would have been interesting to see how he would have dealt with Martinez if he had worked his way into the fight. But I think his open style may have seen him take one or two too many even so. Fo r him it is back to the drawing board.

i don't go in for the 'caught cold' crap too much i think he was dragged down to Martinez game and Martinez beat him in a punching match.
The fact that it only took under 90 seconds is irrelevant imo.

maybe a move to feather for dunne.
he is 27 now and featherweight isn't as strong.
it's gonna be difficult for dunne though.
he's not a youngster anymore.
that was a bad setback.

It was a mandatory defence I don't think a rematch can be in the contract.
But, my guess would be Hobson wil try to get Martinez to defend against Dunne somewhere in the UK. It will pack a venue with the Irish over here.

He looked gaunt at that weight and Kiko looked like a power house, I dont subscribe to that 'caught cold' shite....
Kiko smashed him up and deserves the win and putting that money on @ 66/1 just showed ye how much they were confident of doing it

who decided on those odds?!!?!?!? Seems a bit silly to me as this guy is undefeated and a known puncher!!

Well the only way back as far as I can see in the cold light of reality is a rematch, presuming that he was caught cold. He now knows what to expect against this opponent. Hands higher and a much tighter defence, adequately warmed up and not carried away on a wave of overwhelming national support.
Obviously people will say the rematch will end in a similar result, plus we still do not know haw good this kid Martinez is.

It could be another Johanneson vs Kirakovsyan, but most people were tipping Carl before the fight... so I agree with SticknMove. I think the rematch is the only way for Dunne to get back. Unfortunately he cannot have a British title to fall back on.

Featherweight is stacking up fast. Chris John is in his absolute prime. Linares looks a world beater at 21. Luevano scored a one sided top 10 level win (over Cook). Marquez and Vazquez will probably both move up when they finish battering each other...
Good job this happened to Dunne now. Molitor would have made it la ong & drawn out beating.

It happens pal believe me. Dunne was put down 3 times with heavy punches but was not knocked out cold. He was stunned more than anything before he even got a chance to work his way into the fight.
No matter if a guy is a power house he can be be outboxed and discouraged. The truth is we dont know how good Martinez is and how over rated Dunne is.
