Thanks, Nick. Your father was a tremendous talent. Not many of his opponents lasted the distance once he hit them. He was always one of my heroes, too. I think I will keep researching his amateur career and post whatever results I find on this website under a separate entry, "Nick Wells, A Thunderous Punching Heavyweight." Willie

Les Ralston of Buffalo. Had an awesome amateur career. Fought almost all of his pro fights in NC and SC and then ran into Segio Mora before the contender and Leo'nard Pierre (spelling). Finished at 16-2 and never came back.
