Enzo APPEARS to have all the tools. But maybe he doesn't. He's big, hits hard, is composed & knows which angles to use. But there's a definite lack of movement and he has a very "steady" look about him. Would he be able to cut the ring down on a mover? Would he be able to raise the pacre late in a fight? I think he's not ready to do things like this yet.

He looked domiant v Braithwaite & it was a world class showing but for all we know they were having anxiety attacks behind the scenes.

It's either a damn shame, or shameful, that we don't see him in against the tests that will prove or disprove him. And yet we can see a raw semi novice like Marco Huck rip into one of the hardest hitting cruisers in the world, Tokarev...Criticise Tok's stamina all you want, but that's because he blows most ppl out...

I think man for man in there last 5 fights Haye and Mac's level is about the same and its taken Haye 8 less fights to get to that point. Particularly given that in his making time fight Haye iced the WBC no. 12 heavyweight in a round where as with respect to Braithwaite I don't think he could be considered in his prime during the Mac fight.

It's another easy win for Enzo but I just hate this hermetic Welsh thing, where they seem to be seizing titles and carefully picking opponents.

David Haye will be laughing his head off at this. He's a fighter who has a mind like a fight fan & I'd love to see what he thinks of this "development."

Enzo is good but I fear he's going to be just another Joe.

What the hell is wrong, was it too stressful fighting Braithwaite?

Is this the same Haye who got done by Carl Thompson, who got done by Sellers in 4 brutal rounds?

Ahh yes that's the one, the same one who turned down Macca twice.

BoxingPoop, you know your Boss was up t his usual boollocks re: options etc.

Admit it, Sports Networks Make mostly shit matches!

yep, he makes one really big fight every year or two because the rest of the time he's not making fights; he's just moving & manufacturing his fighters and playing the rotten apple that is the alphabet ratings game. I don't think I'm being offhand here: Warren, you suck.

To be fair, that is what most promoters do. It's only the Arums and Don King's of this world who can consistently put on big showdown type fights, because their stable of fighters can handle a loss here and there.

I think it's a lot more precarious for Warren, given that British boxing is in such a perilous state in terms of TV coverage. It's only recently that things have gotten better with Setanta, Sky and ITV all covering the sport, at one point it looked like we might have zero coverage.

This match is a joke, yet if Enzo blows Sellars out, he will be proclaimed boxings most chilling puncher(I believe Barry said that on ITV after his KO of Hobson).

Haye may not be the finished article but he is fighting the man at his weight in his backyard and hasn't even had 20 fights. How can you not like that?
Wayne Braithwaite is far tougher test than the likes of Europeans Johanneson and Fragomeni who Haye made hard work of.
and mormeck is better than braithewaite so whats your point?

Alos against Johansen Haye wantred to get 12 rounds under his belt cos he had been blowing out the likes of Prince Arthur Gurov (who is better than the likes of hobson if we wanna be pedantic).....Fragominni he came back well from an awful cut, again good learning.

Need those type of fights to mature mate.

Hope ezra gets lucky to be honest.
My point is that Enzo DID step up and has got the win in the bag, and emphatically too. Let's see how Haye does against Mormeck first, a fight that has already being worryingly delayed.

Look, I don't think Enzo vs Sellers is acceptable. However to be equally pedantic as you refer it, Sellers does hold a victory over the only person to beat Haye in Carl Thompson.

To close Enzo's come on leaps and bounds. He's an exciting fighter who I think genuinely wanted the Haye fight. Quite why you want to see him beat is a mystery.

Why can't people appreciate both Enzo and Haye?

Exactly. I appreciate both. Don't see why it has to be one or the other.

I doubt there is a more improved fighter on the British scene than Enzo at the moment. He is a totally different fighter these days. And a really nice humble guy with it, can't see why anyone would wish to see him lose. Don't blame Enzo for his promoters tentativeness he can only fight who they pay to be in the opposite corner. Clearly they're not willing to shell out for this one.

I appreciate both, and would like to see both do well(although prefer Haye, simply because I think he is a better fighter, and I'am an Englishman)

But please tell me you are'nt comparing Mormeck to Braithwaite here?

Wayne was past his best when Enzo beat him(in a very good performance)and even at his best he was not on the same level as Mormeck, who is currently the top man in the division.

Enzo needs to step it up.
His best win so far has come against a guy who was 3 years past his prime, and had lost two of his last three coming into their fight, and had only had something like one fight in the previous 2 years...

There are plenty of good fights to be made in this division right now, and for what it's worth, I think Enzo would fight anyone.
Shame it is'nt him making the fights though.

I think British fighters can handle a loss. Haye and Enzo have both been stopped but were neither were ruined.

The problem is that even a newcomer can see that this is about making 1 guy look good, and there is more bullying than glory in the way Warren fights are made.

The only things competitive with any kind of consistency are the WBU fights, and these are for a nonsense belt that should be forced to have the "W" removed from it: these fighters are also boring - Matthews, Simpson, etc.

Hobson, Hennessey, Maloney put their boys in competitive fights from the bottom up. Warren is successful because just about any show he has he can put a W in it (WBO, where his fighter can fight ANYONE they want no matter how bad, WBU, which cons ppl into thinking "world"), his fighters have zero charisma and it seems no drive to have big fights (until they have a million title defenses), and oh they cannot fight ppl from other promoters.

This all sucks.

I agree, a fight with Adamek would be a very credible matchup. :box:

Sellers is not terrible but he is a huge step back from Braithwaite. :-?

I very much doubt it at 39 and with only 1 fight in over 3 years.... Sellers will be lucky to get past the first round imo, he's never had the best of chins even in his prime...

I'm not comparing Mormeck to Braithwaite but it was still a very good win by Enzo. Braithwaite had lost 2 out of his last 3 but they were to Mormeck (no disgrace) and thereafter to Guillermo Jones in a wild shoot out in which both men were hurt and arguably Braithwaite was stopped prematurely.

Despite his inactivity he's comfortably a top 10 cruiser. Braithwaite also went to Italy a few years ago and stopped Vincenzo Cantatore. The Italian was Haye's mandatory challenger for Haye's European title for an age but the fight never materialised for some reason. I personally think Cantatore is better than Fragomeni and Johannson who each provided Haye with a challenging night's work.

Braithwaite's most probably not a top 10 cruiser now. From now on he'll be a gate keeper & will probably get sent over to Germany for a # of kickings from guys like Alexeev, Huck, Vlad Povetkin, YP Hernandez...

Rubbish, Braithwaite would beat several of the boxrec top 10.

would do, hasn't done it in a while

is he more deserving than (with notable wins in the last 3 years)...

Momeck - Bell, Braithwaite, Hill
Huck - Tokarev, Aurino, May
Tokarev - Cora Jr, Wilson
Haye - Gurov, Fragomeni
Maccarinelli - Braithwaite, Dominguez, Hobson
Wilson - Nwodo, Davis, Brown
Bell - Momeck, Rothmann
Cunningham - Wlodarczyk, Davis, Jones, Rothamnn
Wlodarczyk - Cunningham, Mayfield, May
Jones - Braithwaite, Davis

Braithwaite - Gustavo Enriquez

Enzo's win was a great one and he put on a career best performance but no way can you currently have Braithwaite in the top 10

Braithwaite is'nt a top 10 cruiser these days I'am afraid.

Was Enzo's best win, and it was a very good showing from Macca, but there's plenty better fighters out there for Enzo than an old Big Truck.

I can like/ favour who I wish mate to be honest.

The reasons I prefer Haye is that I didnt like an article that was published some time ago quoting Enzo slagging off haye, I didnt like the bullshit about the fight being called off, due to warren wanting options on Haye if he won, I think the gunn fight was a shambles and so is this one.

As for sellers beating thompson that was 25 years ago and thompson wouldnt beat haye now would he? Frazier beat Ali once that doesnt mean he would beat Vlad now does it. Moot point.

Several? LOL. Which several would he beat? There's young guys coming up that are going to beat the shit out of Braithwaite.

He could possibly beat the plodding Wlodarczyk and Darnell Wilson. I'd take Tokarev over him but think he'd beat Felix Cora, if we're talking a sensible top 15 cruiserweights.

Braithwaite will be in serious trouble if he ever fights Huck, Alexeev, Aaron Williams, Matt Godfrey, Hernandez, Vlad Pov, when these guys come up. He's going to be the Montell Griffin of the cruisers!

Braithwaite was top ten when he faced Enzo, no doubt about it. After that pummeling though it is unlikely that he will ever be the same again, and must drop accordingly in the ratings (now out of the top ten).

It is a big step back in my opinion - I can't see how anyone can justify it at this stage of Enzo's career.

I fear Enzo's career is heading the way of Calzaghe's.

How could there have been no doubt about him being a top 10 cruiser at the time of their fight?

I don't tend to rate anybody in a top 10 who has lost 2 of his previous 3 and had one fight in 2 years prior to the Macca fight.

It's probably 5 years since Braithwaites last big win.

Big truck was in semi retirement when Warren made the offer.

Like the way you try and cover Enzo at the end though :TU:
When Braithwaite get's a beating off a lower ranked fighter than Enzo next time out, you can still convince yourself Macca was the one who ended Braithwaite as a force
