Jefferies has his strong moments where he muslces Frazier around, getting trapped on the ropes he takes alot of hard shots to the body and head. Frazier gets him in trouble and wobbles Jeffries. The Ref steps in saving the Boilermaker.

Tommy Burns (HW) Vs Leon Spinks (peak for peak) over 15 rounds.

Sandy Saddler vs. Salvador Sanchez

Saddler via narrow UD in a barn-burner. The ice-cool-under-pressure Sanchez rallies late, snatching the last two rounds. Saddler floored on a questionable knockdown (some ringside saw it, others didn't). Saddler is just that touch busier which makes the difference. His fouls fail to phase the unflappable Sanchez throughout.

Mundine Sr. vs Mundine Jr, twelve rounds

Mundine sr manages to drop Jr in the 12th round. Ref steps in saving Jr.

Jersey Joe Walcott Vs Greg Page (both in peak shape) 12 rounds

Jersey Joe Walcott wins this fight by TKO in the 11th round after leading throughout. Page was arguably best of the WBA belt holders in the 1980's, and could have been something more...but Walcott is severely under-rated and his fighting style was the mold that Angello Dundee set for a young upstart named Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali.


Max Schmeling vs Jack Dempsey, 15 rounds

jack dempsey knocks schmeling out in the 4th round after beating him badly for all four rounds with his relentless attacks

I think ur dempsey-schemling ideals is way off...but whatever, to each his own opinion....

John L. Sullivan vs Randall 'Tex' Cobb, fight to the finish rules

Cobb outlasts Sullivan, though his face is cut up.

Sullivan quits on his stool at the start of the 29th round.

Duane Bobick Vs Lou Savarese over ten rounds.

Bobick the better Boxer but i feel Savarese would win by UD.

Seems to have more determination seeing how he fared to the likes of Holyfield and Lewis. (Got Blown away by Tyson but cant blame him for that).

But his Wins against Witherspoon and douglas shows he had skill

Doug Jones vs Ray Mercer peak for peak 10 rounds.

Sheesh give Robinson some credit for making difficult match-ups. While Jones was one of the best contenders of the 1960's, I have always thought Ray Mercer was also on the cusp, he was just a notch or so below the top men of his time as well [personally I think he won the Lewis fight, so maybe he was on equal ground]...I think Mercer wins a dubious decision over Jones in what would be nominated, though not win, 'Fight of The Year'.


Jack Johnson vs Luther McCarty, 15 rounds

The aging black champion against the greatest of the 'white hopes'

It'd have been a good fight to watch.

Is there any film of McCarthy ? what I have read is always in praise of this big contender.

JOhnson is in his best form, McCarthy comes in after some big wins, obviously not dead, is now 23. Johnson is in trouble at times, but manages to win the later rounds. He gets a MD over 15 rounds.

In best form...both guys are well trained and in superb career shapes.

Jr., easy UD or late tko over Sr. A more interesting fight would be Floyd against Uncle Roger.
I think Roger gives Jr. a few scares early, possibly even dropping him sometime between rounds 1 and 4. Jr. recovers and finishes the fight with a fairly comfortable lead on all scorecards.

Anyway....

Patterson via KO near 10 he had the hand speed to almost match Jones and hit a lot harder he put combinations together beautifully.

Patterson vs RJJ would be a damned interesting fight to watch.

Dwight Muhammed Quawi vs. Marvin Hagler.12 rounds.

It is a year after Hagler's Decision loss to SRL and he has decided to move up to LHW after a temporary retirement decision. 8)

Hagler returning one year after the SRL “loss” gets out jabbed and countered by the 3’-6” Qawi until the ref stops the fight in the middle rounds due to Hagler’s left eye being completely closed. Qawi has a slight lead at the time of the stoppage.

The victor Qawi then steps into the ring with Georges Carpentier
