All the tournaments should be completed by Monday, April 28, 2008. It looks as if Hawaii won't be sending a team to Grand Rapids.

Floyd Mayweather is planning on attending the event. With his upcoming appearance at the Indy 500 (he is dropping the green flag), his fame is increasing.

Tickets for the National Golden Gloves finals are selling fast. I predict a sellout, which will be approximately 3,500 fans.

We still need the full results for the California GG.

Tournaments that will finish within the next week: Pennsylvania, Tri-State and Cleveland GG. I hope someone will post the results for these as well.
Both Pennsylvania and Cleveland will be posting them on their webpage relatively quick

It was an issue with his school schedule. He is a senior at Buffalo State College, and couldn't get the time off. Look for him fighting pro by the end of summer.

Thompson actually fought in the NY Golden Gloves, was suppose to fight in the semis but withdrew - but I don't know the reason.

The National Golden Gloves is going to be a great event. The media is responding well and there are at least 4 TV stations plus numerous newspapers, magazines and radio stations covering the event.

It's also against the rules to compete for two countries. The Agustama's have boxed for Haiti during Olympic qualifying for the past 8 years. Time they make up their minds.

I understand the Agustama's exhusting every oppurtunity to make the Olympic's, and Azea has done it. Its no different than Oscar Molina trying to qualify through Mexico. So whats the problem?

Watch my lips. It's against the rules to be registered in and box for two countries. Oscar Molina is not competing in the U.S.; the Agustama's are. So, yes, there is a difference between Oscar and Azea.

I believe all the teams have checked in. I haven't heard about any no shows either. We will find out after the weigh-ins. Six of the weight classes tomorrow and the remaining five weight classes on Tuesday.

Yes, it is done by a computer program that is a blind, random draw. No seeding at all. Sometimes the two best boxers in a weight class will face each other the first day of the tournament. That is why there are exciting bouts each and every day.
