I always get excited when Casamayor keeps coming back for good results. Was pleasantly surprised when he beat Corrales (3rd) but this is even better. What a persistent, experienced old boy.

I think he made up for the "win" over Santa Cruz. Katsidis is better than SC. Some history infatuated Yanks NEED Casa to beat SC to prove he's worthy "lineal" king but eff it, bad decisons are a part of the game and Casa's lost some that he's deserved to win.

Joel just needs 1 more feather in the cap and surely he's a Hall of Famer after he retires. I want to see him beat Campbell again.

Great month for Casa fans like myself. Nate Campbell winning 3 belts from Juan Diaz, setting up the rematch & making Casa's win over Campbell look better. Sod Casa-Sanata Cruz II and let's see Casa-Campbell 2.

Was I the only 1 who had Casa beating Santa Cruz? Casa was cruising early taking all the rounds, Santa switched stance and took some rounds BUT Cruz punches were getting slipped and very little was landing and what did land was only the jab.

So Casa wins 5 of the first 6 and scrapes 3 of the last 6 for my money. It wasn't a robbery for me at all I think the commentators biased the fight and people were thinking Cruz landed when in fact he did not

Maybe I'm just a biased Casa fan with rose tinted glasses and didnt rate Cruz work but thats the way I had it.

I also had MAB beating Marquez and nearly beating Pacman (not sure as I didn't get the last 3rounds), maybe that was rose tinted glasses too and just prefering the work from my favoured fighter

I do try to score fairly and I honestly don't think it was a highway robbery by any means

Honestly I tried to bend it for Casa but watching the fight I just didn't want to. He did seem to nick a lot of the early rds but after that he kept getting tagged as he was moving back, by the taller, stronger man. He did show some skills but boxed with no authority.

Katsidis makes up for it, because Katsidis is a fair bit better and more dangerous than Santa Cruz. SC had his 15 mins of fame but he would've lost the title soon enough if he'd got the decision.

I just see it as outstanding fighters can get beaten on their off nights, yet come back to remind us how good they are. One of the few cases where a bad decision was actually the best thing to happen!

If Santa Cruz is the real deal he'll come back and beat top guys...again. I don't think he will.

As I've said in the past I base my scoring on punches landing cleanly so if someones moving back, not getting hit and scoring counters, I favour their work, so thats why Casa won on my card albeit unimpressively

Santa Cruz isnt that bad though he was dominating his fight with David Diaz prior to geting caught up with

Actually maybe Santa Cruz would be a good Khan opponent prior to a title shot. No devastating powr but a real test at lightweight

Santa Cruz might be a good opponent. Strong, slow, fairly limited but veryt ough. If Khan could get him after say Kristiansen and maybe Romanov, and win it could be impressive. They could say we beat him better than Casamayor did.

If Khan wants to beat an oldie champ like Casa or Campbell, he needs some hard seasoning as they are rough, nasty fighters despite being slowed down.

Santa Cruz has a very good record. When I looked at it, that was what convinced me that Casamayor would win. Santra Cruz is better than anything he had faced, and has mixed in very good company.

Anyone else heard that Casamayor claimed that he and Santa Cruz are good friends?

In all honesty, but I had heard Casamayor used the fact they were really good friends as an excuse for his performance. Pretty weak admittedly.

I like the way the commentators were casually saying that if it was intentional, he would have done it so the ref couldn't see. Cynical buggers!

Didn't bet on Kotelnik. Was tempted to for late rounds KO, but my betting advisor talked me out of it, gutted!

Looked like a world champ in with a novice in the 1st minute, bang bang and the Aussie was down twice inside a minute.
Katsidis showed guts to come back and avoid the humiliation of a one round exit though.

After the fight, the Cuban says that the Aussie doesn't hit hard. Obviously believes in kicking a man when he's down, does Casa.

Now we know how Guzman/Katsidis would have gone.
