Boxing Tw*t wrote:Spud, you blagged two trips with Hatton and you've suddenly become an expert. Look at the posts on here, ask people, what they think and they ARE losing respect for Hatton due to his constant BS regarding the Witter situation. His excuses over the years have not been consistant at all and a new reason appears every week. Team Hatton do make the decisions I agree, but ask yourself who is the boss of team Hatton? What would Team Hatton do without their boss, eff all and be nothing. Hatton makes the decisions and cdhooses to hide behind people who know FA about Boxing, people like you, Spud, yes men in a free tracksuit. The bottom line is, if Hatton wanted to fight Witter and really fancied the job, he would whether his gravy train drivers agreed or not. He IS Team Hatton and hiding behind them is a very transparent excuse indeed unless your rose tinted glasses need a polish.
Boxing Tw*t - as always your post deserves a reply:
Lets get down to reasonable debate - because I really do believe you are wrong about Hatton losing the respect of the British Public - your post implies the majority are in dissent - when in reality it is a minority that either visit these forums or who work or are involved in the sport in some way - the majority of the public who know f*ck all about boxing whether we like it or not are well in favour of Ricky Hatton.
As always my argument is very simplisitic - if I am wrong I will ask you a question - when Hatton was a rising star I will actually argue your paymasters struggled sometimes to fill the MEN unless you filled the undercard with some decent ticket sellers - you also did what happened a lot at the MEN - made very good use of the black curtains!!! - I would also argue the only time the MEN truly sold out was for the KT fight!!!
Now Ricky Hatton has just returned in my view from a right pasting from Floyd Mayweather - he is in a nothing fight with Juan Lazcano YET THE FIGHT IS GOING TO BE SOLD OUT WITH 50K PLUS - ticket sales, TV revenue and memorabilia will gross obscene amounts and certain people I and others despise so much will be laughing their b*llocks off and will be able to make a number of bonfires with the piles of money they are going to make - that to me is not Ricky Hatton losing the respect of the British Public!!!!
Furthermore Boxing Tw*t - my rose tinted spectacles have been lost for a few months you will have to trust me on that - my 2nd trip to Vegas last year enlightened me to an awful lot and made me realise boxing is really not worth getting stressed out about there are bigger things to worry about - I will say again regardless of what you and others think I learnt an immense amount in the last 8 years - so keep the personal sh*t out of things!!
Boxing Tw*t wrote:No one going is around calling Ray or Paul Speak a coward are they. Ricky laces up the gloves and Ricky does the fighting and it will be him who get's called 'chicken' for years to come if he fails to step up, not them.
For me he beats Witter all day long, Witter will fade and go into running mode, it's in his genes he won't change. if Hatton stays off the beer long enough and trains for it he would beat Witter hands down and what a sweet victory it would be for him personally, before he moves on without any publioc pressure. So why doesn't he give his public what they want, maybe for a few quid less I grant you, but eirther way more than he would have got for Castillo and Tszyu due to his increased standing. Give the public a real present, as it was they who swelled his purse to bursting point by buying record PPV for his Mayweather humiliation and they who paid the extortionate mark up on the tickets from HIM (Via team Hatton) so why doesn't he genuinely put something back and give his loyal fans and the sport what's required.
The above is answered very easily indeed - Ricky Hatton does not want to fight Junior Witter and more importantly he does not need to from a financial perspective or a popularity perspective!!! - Ricky is like you Boxing Tw*t he thinks he can beat Witter so there isn't even that incentive of not knowing to entice him to the negoitiation table.
Until the GENERAL public and not just the boxing public - and also until the MEDIA turn on Hatton and demand the fight there is no f*cking chance whatsoever of the fight ever happening!!!
Boxing Tw*t I think it is a shame but me and yes I will admit it even me and many more others on here want to see the fight happen - but we are boxing fans - even if you did a poll in bloody Bradford and asked them who Ricky Hatton was and who Junior Witter was I bet you we all know who would come out more popular - it is sad and it is wrong because Junior Witter deserves the fight but no f*cker knows him and that is another reason why the fight won't happen - some will blame Witters promoter for that one!!!
boxing Tw*t wrote:People remember the great British showdowns and I really belive in years to come Hatton-Witter be remembered more by his fans that the Mayweather debacle.
So yes Spud the public, outside the Manchester area, ARE becoming bored with it and ARE losing their respect for him - and I for one think he will regret it some day and it will tarnish an otherwise great career.
I have to say your very last line is the one I agree with - Hatton will learn to regret not fighting Witter - and you have just touched on the very reason and the only reason left why there is a crumb of a chance the fight might still happen.

Hatton knows Witter can seriously damage his legacy and thats the simple reason he can,t take the very high risk of losing to him.
He can live with losing to the pound to pound best(twice if need be) but dosn,t want to be exposed by anybody else.
Mayweather schooled him and theres a good chance Witter will do the same.

I would sooner be poor and respected than rich and called a coward. Hatton is already a very rich man and can afford to earn less for one fight to prove a point, that being who deserves to be called number one. The excuses show me and others he he is not confident beating Witter.

you know full well mayweather would just play with him, probably not have to get out of 1st gear, id say mayweather went into 3rd gear vs hatton at least. u ppl cant compare Witter with Hatton yet, Hatton has faced a completely different level of oponent
PBF would have a harder time with Witter!
3rd gear to beat Hatton? I THINK NOT!
You can not stay in 1st gear against an unorthodox switch hotter with speed and good power and a good chin,
Wake up!
I would LOVE PBF to fight Witter - PBF UD12.

I've been a massive Witter fan for years and I've wanted this fight for years BUT no way Ricky Hatton takes this fight and endanger future paydays against Mayweather/Pacquaio/Khan. Hatton knows he would have a 50% or greater chance of losing and this would lose him those paydays. Maybe it will happen when Hatton has exhausted all other avenues
The fights just not going to happen, I hope Junior gets another big fight, maybe he can get a shot a Cotto who is being matched bravely and we can all get behind him. Cotto won't get a shot at Mayweather/Delahoya/Hatton in the next 12 months and hasn't got many interesting options at 147 so this could be a good match up

Otherwise Witter will do well to get Torres, Malignaggi or a top lightweight in the ring

that is what makes me laugh about him refusing to fight junior.

you could put both hatton and witter in together against PBF and floyd would still win.

One thing’s for sure Witter will have to stay champion and keep winning to stand any chance of ever landing a Hatton fight.
A loss no matter how close or controversial would bury Witter for good.
For a Start - Hatton will be praying and I mean really praying that Witter loses to Bradley to get that "boil off his arse" for good.
Knowing Witters luck the unknown Timothy Bradley is probably going to be a really tasty operator, unlike Hatton Witter is not going to get any favours when it comes to tough mandatory defences now or in his future as WBC champion is he?

It's a shame for BRITISH BOXING if the fight doesn't get made but it isn't a fight the whole boxing world are clamouring for - domestic battles do not generate big money - even if the crowds came to watch Benn vs Eubank for example - the rest of the world knew that the best SMs were in the states.
Hatton is an astute guy and enough of a boxing historian to know that a Witter fight will not enhance his legacy in the long run or on a worldwide scale.
Carlos Carlos Carlos,
Hatton is aware that WE will be the main peile talking about him - the writers of today will chew him up once he retires, at the moment they are content will skating around the issue.
Do you think the rest of the world really knows or talks about Eubank Benn they way we do?
Eubank's fights are repeated pretty much every night in West Europe and Far East. Seriously!

You'd make a cracking Boxing Promoter Chris........ but a shit British Boxing fan IMO. Hattons already earned about £30m in his career why is money still his sole objective in the sport, especially considering his humble 'Man of the People' lifestyle. Fight Junior and get some respect back
Spud, most of the casual fans still think Hatton's the bees knees, but IMO even they will start to turn (are starting to turn) when the truth about Hattons ducking comes to light on and around May 10th
