Even three-belt world champion Nate Campbell isn't the biggest of blokes (moved up from super feather), isn't the youngest (he's 36). You'd have to say statistically Nate Campbell fits the bill.
But right now, is there a fighter out there for Amir that is a) definitely winnable, b) marketable, c) can't punch - as Khan awaits the title shot. You have to rule out Romanov (puncher), Peterson (young & very strong) etc.
I have no problems Khan being ahead of Anthony Peterson. Aside from was it Oscar Leon or Humberto Toldeo (it was a Humberto Soto victim) Anthony hasn't really fought anyone.
Khan did beat Limond, Earl and St Clair.

Gainer has killed off any chance of big opportunities through his negative performance vs JM Marquez. No one would want to bring him in, unless the promoter wanted to save money, from withholding his purse because he wouldn't compete.

When Khan hit Kristjansen when he was down, wasn't RJJ disqualified for exactly the same thing back in 97?

Have to say, Khan looked fragile against the Dane. He was tagged by right hands repeatedly, and when he was going for the stoppage, was standing flat footed with his chin in the air, totally unprotected, with both hands flailing away.
He got away with it because he was in against an opponent he can overwhelm, but hurting a world class fighter is not enough, you've got to bury them, and if he tries that method, he will be the one getting buried.
I'd give chance a chance against Casamayor or Campbell right now, mainly based on his speed, youth, and punching ability coming forward, but if he didn't win early, he would be dismantled.

Similar, but Jones Jr's was worse because his punches were later and harder.

You should see the rematch. Jones blitzed him in a minute. I watched the first fight a month ago and couldn't believe that Merchant et al were undecided whether he was a force at 175 at the time.

I have the rematch on DVD but i'd never seen the first fight.

might be that Khan needs a better opponent if he is to look really sharp. I can remember how sloppy David Haye used to look until he fought a world class opponent, Gurov.
