The last time I got really angry watching a fight was the Emanuel Augustus verses Courtney Burton fixed decision. So much so, that even though Burton is evidently an okay guy, I relished watching him get demolished by Ebo Elder as retribution.

I've said it before, but there was an old ESPN main from Connecticut where the ref helped Rafael Lopez up twice after blatant knockdowns and claimed they were slips and he won a decision over some journeyman after being battered and wobbled in every round. It was so bad that the commentator (the one named "Sal" that predated Al Bernstein) got in the ring with a live mic and confronted the ref and they literally had a back and forth confrontation. That one might have been the worst.

Ossie Ocasio vs. Dwight Muhammad Qawi in 1987.

In Snipes-Coatzee . . knockdowns did not give the fighter extra points!!!! I don't know how many times this needs to be stressed. Going by rounds (which is how it was judged), it wasn't a bad decision at all. Giving Snipes 6 rounds and Coatzee 4 is a very reasonable scorecard.

It was not the worst decision, but Ellis-Patterson made me the maddest. Stomped out the house.

Campillo v Shumenov and Cloud were both horrible

Others that were bad, off the top of my head, although not all-time bad:
Castillo I vs Floyd was, IMO, a bad call, although not the worst I've seen
Vera v Chavez was really bad
Bradley v Manny Pac was bad, IMO
Ruiz v Kameda was bad

Sugarboy outboxed Benn & although it was close, I thought Sugarboy clearly won it.

Pernell Whitaker vs. Jose Luis Ramirez.. fight took place in France I think... Sweet Pea easily won ..ABC televised

Perhaps, but 2 out of those 3 were awful and Jones was close.

I think the honest to god worst on a grand scale was allowing Chavez to walk away still a champion after being genuinely outclassed by Whitaker.

However in hindsight....it is one of the greatest "badge of honors" to spite poor judges in history.

Horrible as that was, guys like Tyrone Everett won more rounds than there were in that fight and still lost. You could make a case that Burnett won every round against Spinks and dropped a UD. Chavez enraged me, but Ramirez & DLH were worse imo.

Well it was what it represented that made it so bad. The judges had the responsibility to make that one right and failed so miserably. So much on the line for boxing's credibility...everyone was watching...and the decision looked so desperately staged.

The ONLY thing that could have eclipsed it for it's bountiful nature would have been if King could have actually pulled the rabbit out of a hat that would have reversed the Tyson-Douglas decision, Which for a day or two actually seemed to be a possibility.

rios "beating" abril was beyond robbery, it was a shady affair..
rios lost nearly every round (abril took it easy only in the 3rd and 8th) and looked like a bag of potatoes.
He claims abril clinched all the time..but, really, most of the fight was at long distance, and when it was close, abril just used a toney-mayweather-esque half guard and his height advantage to escape rios' short punches, not clinching.

I've never understood the robbery claims regarding the sugar ray Leonard Marvin hagler fight. Sure it was close, I've watched it many times and I always get the same winner

Wifredo Vazquez Sr. vs Genaro Rios
I was a massive fan of Vazquez, but he won no more than two rounds in this fight. He barely landed a punch all night, just walked forward as Rios pot-shotted from the outside. The fact that Vazquez was already lined up to fight Hamed next might not be wholly unrelated...

Ernesto Marcel D15 Kuniaki Shibata. Say what??? A draw? it was one of the most horrible decisions I have ever seen on film. Marcel should have won the fight outright. Well, in Japan, you have to win by KO or nothing else matters.

In Japan or in South Korea, you got to kill the champion or else.

I actually have the Oscar vs Sweet Pea fight recorded, but have never really sat down to watch it and score it. I'll do that sometime over the next few days and give my 2 cents about it.

I had it 116-110 Whitaker, it's a perfect case of ineffective aggression. Couple that with the judges giving Oscar 8 rounds and it makes Chavez look just. Those cards were filled out before the fight. Not even a tough fight to score.

What was that fight with Stecca when the trainers were holding him up in the corner as he was getting hit...?

Then what about that fight...was it in Italy...where the lights went out?
