Fenech-Nelson was a better fight than expected really. Both were in good shape and showed good heart even if they were older and slower. No one could have been disappointed. The Kickett-St-Clair scores were a complete joke, however. St Clair was a clear winner. There should be an inquiry, but there won't be because the Aussie prospect won. The fix was in!

I watched the fight and although i didnt score round by round, i feel the scores for kickett and stclair are fair enough. Kickett landed the more cleaner punches. Fenech fight was good in the fact no man got hurt.

Fenech v Nelson...a lot of the younger guys could learn a thing or two. FIGHT when you get in the ring.
Neither is going to be a world beater but they are both warriors. Thanks for for a great night of boxing,,,,

Seems like we saw it similar and everyone watching thought the same as well.

On Townsville show trying get couple of my boys matched

If you actually judge for your self and dont listen to commentators you might get a better perspective . Next time turn off the commentry and try to judge for yourself you might be shocked.( not trying to be smart i do it regulary and it takes any bullshit out of your rbr)

I judged the fight and had it 97-93 for Kickett and that was unbiased. Just coming forward dosnt win you rounds, If you come forward and are being effective then you do but if your still getting your head snapped back time and time again you arnt being effective.

I couldnt beleive the commentators after some rounds Kickett just about decapitated Stclair with uppercuts and hard punches and the commentory gave round after round to StClair :o :o

Kickett v st clair:hmmmmmmmmmmmm!dogey decision.i had st clair by 2 rounds. some very close to call. no way as wide as cards indicated.Think st clair was robbes.all considered Kickett did well especially considering experience difference.couldnt get over the switch hitting. Kickett is the real deal. BUT st clair won IMO. Good foght. St clalir-he is an awkward customer to say the leats.if he had power eckon kickett may have gone.

MAIN- ok was slow BUT anyone gt in close to these dudes and watchg out. some bits were amazing all considered.Fenech won but as sad Fenech ran in 9/10,especially 9.Hoped would trade a bit more. Some of the punches still there and essence of class there without question.

Undercard was pretty good. Flywieght bout was good. first up lads going for it., A good night and would WAY more pay for this than recent Mundine outings.

God bless boxing and coopers pale ale and the Marion hotel. They even telecasting Diaz V Pacman.

And not a bad crowd at all.

NOW PLEASE JEFF PUT THE GLOVES AWAY.Have to say some of the inside exchanges were great.Talk about instinct.

Fenechs inside fighting was just like the good old days :) , When they first said this fight was on i cringed, after tonights card though i will have to say it was better than any Mundine card since Kessler or Green.

I could have accepted a split/close decision to Kickett as I had him a draw (at best) to 1 down...the judges scores were a joke .... just sad that true boxing fans have to put up with shady "underworld" characters orchestrating results like this... I know it happens in Germany and the US ect but to have Willie winning by 6 points in a 10 rnd fight with no knock downs its just wrong!!

As for the Fenech fight it was great for nostalgia but Nelson was never going to win it on points anyway and to see Jeff running away in the last couple of rounds not the way i want to remember the man....I hope the paycheck Nelson got was worth it....Im not sure the $40 bucks I paid to see a couple of dodgy decisions was!

Well I have seen a lot worse junior middle weight fights in my time and the undercard was good (besides the bullshit result in Kickett v St Clare) so in hindsight the payment wasnt bad...you going to pay for Diaz v Pcaman....good card

Yeahh Ben some of that inside stuff was classic.Jeff did seem to get a fair few uppercuts in and some of his bodyshots were great. Was obviously wary of the power Nelson(what a farkin legend) still has and showed(albeit rarely). no doubt of decision-wish Jeff had exchanged a bit more in last 2.
Have to say that any young fighter watchin mustb have learned a few things. Damn-slow ok, but the innate awesomeness(word?) of these 2 great fighters was amazing. And shit. Glad i wasnt anywhere some of those nelson shots. goodnight....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

Reports on television this morning that some of the crowd were "disappointed" at the lack of action. I wonder what they expected from two blokes in their 40s who had not fought this century? If you are silly enough to pay to watch that, don't blame the boxers.

It should have been a 6 rounder as there was a lot of clinching and the ref was forebver trying to break up the mauling and holding. Jeff spent the last two rounds in full retreat and being given the "bird" by the crowd. Too much mauling dominated the bout and it was not a good advert for boxing.

Hang 'em up Jeff and no more of this crap about redemption.

I actually didn't mind the inside fighting, at least these guys threw punches when they were in close. Some of the guys today could learn a thing or two about it...

Yeah I phrased it incorrectly. I am aware where they stand in the history of the sport. I was meaning as the fighters they are today, they are not going to win any world titles...neither is going to be a world beater in the FUTURE.............is that better ??

didnt really enjoy the fight as much as i hoped to, but cant expect two guys at their age that have been out of the ring for that long to put on to much of a show
