Madball. Im sure you can watch the video.

After Mundine said that. Richard Wilkins asked so you support the killings of civillians.

And im pretty sure he said no after that!

Don't call me rediculous for defending the guy im not. But he was bated. And if you can't see that, then theres no point me saying that.

Whats going to get worse.

Can you guys see getting a boxer to comment on a political crisis is not right?

I mean if Kostya Tzyu is doing the weather report tomorrow and telling me a low is coming through sydney, im going to be very dissapointed.

I'm not saying that it is right. But since when has integrity or good judgement stopped the media in the past? Richard Wilkins isn't exactly a credible journo either.

As I said before, it's not uncommon for the media to use high profile athletes/personalities/actors/musicians/etc for big news items or opinion based stories. (As an example, although not locally based - look at all the actors in the USA protesting the "War on Terror" that get plenty of airtime because of their status not because of their intelligence levels) Even common folk get asked about opinions, how many times do you see big stories (eg: tax rises) and through the report you see average citizens interviewed, alongside or even without a professional accountant or financial advisor? Same concept there.
Mundine was a good candidate for this story as I've stated before. He may have offered his opinion also? The chances are that there were multiple people interviewed and due to his response Mundine's was the only one aired. They probably wanted a black muslim's perspective and one that was well known, who better that was likely to give a reasonable (it wasn't) response? The Mufti (forgot his name)?

But the bottom line of it is - Mundine was approached to give an opinion, he gave a statement that was insensitive and not thought through and he has to deal with the consequences.

BTW, if Kostya was to do the weather tomorrow I'd just as likely believe him as I would a weatherman, they don't know jack most of the time. Plus I like listening to him talk.

What Mundine said was wrong. No ones saying it wasn't.

But there isn't really any consequences.

Theres more hate. These people buy his PPV's to see him get knocked out.

Hes allowed to box in the US. And he will sell more tickets because of it, even though they want to see him get knocked out.

I think you meant to say these people USED to buy the PPV's. I think a vast majority are ignoring him these days.

Despite the comments, most Americans would have forgotten about him by now. He would not be much of a drawing in the States these days at all.

He's still making money which is unfortunate but I reckon that the ppv buys are nowhere near the level they were two-three years ago.

you seem to have all the rating facts. How many 'buys' were there for his last foray into the ring? Live gate numbers (quoted from a ligitimate source) would also be interesting.

We shall wait with baited breath. :D

I just called again then. I spoke to a lady from foxtel. Main event don't really have any representatives.

But she said. You won't get a reply with email or calls.

The only way you can is to write them a letter directly to this address

5 Thomas Holt Drive, North Ryde, NSW 2113

I can't be bothered. But if someone else does! Total Respect!

Although no-one can come up with figures at the moment I'm sure that it should be pretty obvious that Mundine's not selling as much as he used to. I will give my reasoning for this below:

1. Look at the amount of pubs/clubs that now show Mundine fights compared to what I'll call his peak, say 3yrs (and longer) ago
Answer: From what I've noticed, it has dropped probably 50% if not more

2. Look at the crowds that are at said pub's watching the fights, compared to "peak" years
Answer: During peak years, any pub I went to or someone I knew went to, was packed with people. EVERYONE wanted to see a Mundine fight, whether to support or to see him KTFO. Nowadays the pubs seem to be lucky to have 20 people in them where they'd once have, say 100.

3. Supporters turning on him.
Answer: A lot of staunch Mundine supporters from his peak era that I know, have met, are no longer fans due to the long line of non-competitive fights from the so-called Man. This ranges between boxing and non-boxing fans.
