What exactly has he achieved in boxing? Nothing. He's made good money I'll give him that. That’s more to do with the mugs though, not Amir Khan.

I can't speak for Riddick, but I know I've succeeded in the profession I chose. The same can't be said for Amir Khan unfortunately.

Im guessing it will be against either Fewkes, Thaxton or Gethin, but then my guesses with Khan are usually rubbish.

Have they (khans, warren) brought up an excuse yet? Like for eg. Amir has been fasting during ramadhan????

No. I don't think they need to. Khan made terrible mistakes that you can't excuse. As Warren said, he needs to learn from those mistakes.

He has the tools, like i said before, his Real test begins now. He has to make his way back, be it a FW Short cut or the long route, he needs to get a proper trainer, and think things through

the questionable chin, now proven, I fear might lead to a seriously 'gun shy' fighter and might very well prove to be his end if he takes another devastating knockout. Once fear sets in a fighter is already finished, time will tell.

There is no way on gods earth Warren will let Khan anywhere near Prescott unless the guy loses both arms in a freak accident.

Warren clearly didn't want Khan facing any punchers, and allowed himself to be swayed by Khan's new trainer, there's no way on gods earth he will allow the same thing to happen again.

I'm guessing he will fight someone who can't punch, is moving up to lightweight, and will get bowled over without problems to Sky/Warren/Khan statements that the win shows Amir is back.

On the subject of Khan beting Prescott - I think the way Khan stumbled after taking a jab and how Prescott just walked through him would mean that Prescott would win 99 out of 100 times.....

Khan getting KO’d is not a surprise. I thought it may have happened at a higher level and not in the dramatic fashion of last night.

The lad has always been in way too of much of a hurry to take opponents out with his heavy handed flurries. That works as well as it can at domesic level especially against smalller non punchers but doesn’t prepare him or teach him anything at a higher level. Alarm bells were ringing from those ‘learning fights’. The lack of measure and composure from him shows that none of the trainers have been able to get through to him and unfortunately that’s why the wheels have come off the bandwagon.

It has never helped his cause being as high profile as he was - fighters should have to earn it in the right way. Topping the bill from day one is a cautionary tale that other medalled high profiled amateurs turning over would best learn very early in their careers.

We can never be certain about Prescott’s power at this stage in his career. He may have phenomenal power. The way that wide left hook landed and watching Khan’s face distorted and out suggests real power - obviously put on offer by Khan’s ‘little’ mistake.

I have to write off any chance of Khan being a significant player in world boxing terms - he’s far too vulnerable. The top end of Brit/Euro level with manufactured guidance may well see him win a version of a title but the hype is well and truly dead.

Nah I reckon a rematch with Steve Gethin could be too risky.

How about this, Khan takes on the local hero, Peter Buckley in another PPV extravaganza. I can picture Adam Smith now......."Can Amir finally join the legends of British Boxing by becoming the first man in six years to stop the granite chinned Buckley?"

I think it's the perfect time for Khan to move up to 140lbs. He would probably be stronger and have better punch resistance (that's definitely not a given though). And more importantly - he could blame the defeat on 'killing himself at the weight'. I think the public would buy it and he would probably get a reprieve. On the other hand though - if his chin doesn't improve with the more comfortable weight then he's seriously risking his life. It's a tough one, but at least the kid still has options.

Yer and the one Khan wins will be when Prescott is disqualified for hitting Amir by mistake when khan is on the deck from a punch.........or if the Colombian trips and brakes his ankle over Mickey Vann's foot on the way out of his corner for the first round ;)

Maybe, but I was watching Whitaker's first fights the other day, and he was aired on network TV with the other '84 medalists all fighting. It was one big showcase. Khan's problem is he doesn't and has never had the defence to mix it at the top level.

Can I also say that...Pac-Man was KOed early twice.

To be brutally honest I think he may struggle to hit WBU level after last night, I'd love to be proved wrong and see him become a legitimate world champion but I really doubt it as now the bubble really has burst.
Infact I can't see any future British world champions, Froch may win a belt or two, Barker possibly as well although it's too early to tell but other than that there isn't too much to shout about prospect-wise.
