Mugabi, I've thoroughly 'enjoyed' (for want of a better word) your posts especially, it's obviously a subject very close to you. I'm not as close to the situation as yourself, but your summing up seems accurate to me. I hope the youth working's goes well, it's a career that I've loosely been thinking about lately, but it's a BIG step from the horrificly boring world of IT
Kind words but I would kindly say stick with the IT job.
My previous criminal record counts against me in jobs id like to do like IT. But hell its my own fault. See im trying to be a righteous man and they say a righteous man is a powerful one.
You work in IT, its clear the computer world has been smiling on you, dont you dare frown back at it!!!!
I have to wake up everyday and when my 7 year old kid tells me he wishes he lived in a georgian terrace in Notting Hill like his friends with succesfull parents I have to tell him his dad, traded in his education opportunities...... his GCSE's....... respect from teachers.......and a potential £60,000 year job so that he could hang about on street corners stealing from shops, and get a job counselling scumbag pissants who rob grannies so that they can buy drugs!!!!!

and now im supposed to rehabillitate them.

I work play the martyr though, People like James Oyebolo wont be the last to suffer.

Another problem has been the free availability of cheap supermarket food. Id love there to be a law to force these big butted west indian sluts to go and work on a farm all day and break a nail picking fruit so they'd appreciate that food they put down their mouths more.
Cheers for the advice, but just the thought of spending another 33 years in IT puts me a few steps closer to Broadmoor. If it's not youth working it'll be somat else.... in time

Posted by DG " im sorry but i read your earlier posts and you seemed to talk sense, you said you'd turned your life around and were councilling these teenagers. in this post you make it sound like a chore, if your hearts not in it dont bother. your clearly not the man to inspire or educate these kids, and as for your views on 'big butted west indian sluts' i dont care if you are black thats still xenophobia.
there are real people in my community who have actually turned there life around and give there all to tryin to make just one kid not sell drugs or pick up that gun. they know its an uphill stuggle, but they have never complained once, they look at as if its there duty because of the things they went through. seriously if your heart isnt in it dont do it.

and as for locking these kids up, that isnt the answer, like i said before the answer is education and prevention. the government need to stop these guns getting to these kids in the first place. the greatest answer to this problem is to legalise drugs. its a fact that prohabition just causes crime. look at what happend in the 1930's in america during alcohol prohabiton, there was a crime wave.
My hearts in it pal,Im just saying it aint easy sometimes and its a thankless task most times.Your argument that if it saves one kid its worth it isnt really valid. These kids are only being "saved" into behaving in a civilised way, ie work,be honest and dont take drugs commit violence and theft? How hard is that in a country like this where everything is handed to u? every other generation that ever existed before world war II somehow managed to do this unlike the black and white council estates communities in london today? Why make the one who is "saved" into such a paragon of decency when all they are doing is, what the rest of us law abiding bunch do as a matter of course. BEHAVE IN A CIVILISED MANNER.DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO TO YOU.
I was once a kid who was a filfthy thieving toerag and at first when i started behaving decently in prison i felt like i should be given a medal. Instead a friendly warden told me he'd kick my arse and take away my canteen if I didnt behave. That served as better incentive for behaving than oh if you fornicate up its so hard being on the straight and narrow.

Being a youth workers is a tough job but someone's got to do it. why do you talk about needing to "inspire" these kids. Why should inspiration (in itself a feeling of being high and thus a luxury) be needed to teach these kids basic human values and decency and the principle of work. They should sodding well be like that anyway if they had decent parenting. Until the second world war every generation in this country knew that you worked and earned food or u died. No welfare state or easy handout. Before the second world war and until the beggining of time it was about survival. Yeah that got you didnt it. Survival thats what im talking about.
How do i get what i need? How do i keep what I got? How do i survive?
Under such difficult circumstances people valued helping one another and community. But take that away and you have a generation of peoples who are given easy welfare handouts which buy plentiful supplies of supermarket , they dont need to work for anything and they have no fear of battling to survive, on top of this they still arent happy, they want the expensive lifestyle of bling and £100,000 cars and jewellery, so for that they rob and steal. the end result jackie boy? They have a rotten selfish immoral outlook on life.

You say locking up these kids isnt the answer but education and prevention is the answer, well excuse me, but most of these pudenda have just come from 16 years of full time education and that didnt work.Whats the solution throw more education at them? I dont think so. As for prevention there are a whole load of laws aimed at prevention and detterent but these dont "prevent" so how much more will further "preventative measures" help.

re: "the government need to stop these guns getting to these kids in the first place" well the government is. They ban guns. The fact Delbert goes out and buys a harmless replica one and pays good money to have it converted into a dangerous firearm well thats putting too much blame on the government cos they than go and also ban replica guns but still the criminals find a way.

Its a black and white problem now in London.

I wont lie to you people, recently youth work has got me down. I felt like striking some decency into a 15 year old boy who had beaten up his grandfather for drugs money but my proffesional code prevents me.

Legalising drugs now thats a whole other matter.

Again why do you make such a big deal over "one black kid not selling drugs or picking up that gun" you talk as if black kids have more of a genetic compulsion to pick up drugs and guns than asian , oriental or white communities. We all go to the same schools and i wont use this as an excuse for myself or other black kids.

Asian, white and oriental communities dont seem to make such a big deal of "saving one kid from picking up a gun or doing drugs". Our community does, as if the guns and drugs themselves are luring these kids more than kids of other colours. as if the guns and drugs are alive and more atracted to black kids than indian kids for example and to quote "its such an uphill struggle".

i wont take my comments back about "big butted west indian sluts or bitches". cos these women should look at nigerian ,trinidadian,st vicentese or ghanian or ivory coast women who manage to have class and dignity.

Jamaica is the arseend of black nations.

Prohibiting drugs certainly isn't working, freedom of choice and education is the only way forward IMO. Heroine and crack addicts should be registered and they should have their drugs prescribed to them (free of charge), so that they don't have to beat up the elderly or thieve or rob my fcuking car stereo (causing £1000 worth of damage, so they can make £30).

A close relation of mine is in the police force round my way and he reckons over 90% of his time is spent dealing with smackheads and the problems that they cause in getting money/drugs..... and a large majority of the smackheads don't want to be doing the things that they're doing, but they have to to feed their addiction. If they're all registered they can get the help they need when they're ready for it.

Marijuana (at least) should be legalised or decriminalised, because it distinguishes it from the bad drugs like crack and smack. Virtually every kid has tried a spliff these days and when they do it's clear that pot is not this monster that the laws of the land try to make it out to be, so why should they believe the laws of the land when they prohibit BAD drugs like smack.

The government is not analysing the drugs problem that the country has, it just listens to middle England who have little or no idea of what's going on.

In other words unemployed layabouts , high seeking degenerates should be given drugs funded by the govt through tax payers money, to get high, while the rest of work our arses off in sometimes soul destroying jobs, hoping and praying for those special moments in life where we earn a high, such as the birth of a child, a good meal, a kind word from a friend, a hot bath after a hard days work in the cold.

Regular addictive Soft drugs like marijuana always lead to hard drugs in the end cos the body gets used to the soft drug and u cant get the same high and enjoyment and than seek out the harder stuff.

Not always I've got plenty of mates who only smoke weed and have done for years, however I must admit I can't lump myself into that category. I don't see there being anything wrong with recreational drugs if you're working to pay for them, should alcohol be banned? it's one of the worst drugs out there, especially from a social aspect with the loud aggressive unsociable behaviour that comes with alcohol..... you don't see many pill and pot heads rioting in the streets

We'll continue to let them beat the elderly to death for £20 then!! It would save the tax payer money in the long run. Being an unemployed smackhead is still not going to be a nice existance, I certainly wouldn't swap them even though I hate my job with a passion

Well some religions treat alcohol and drugs alike.
Clearly drink is something that doesnt have the same addictive qualities of drugs from what Ive seen and its just my opinion. Very few kinds come in here with just a drink problem. Its always drug abuse and alcohol and substance abuse.

Drunken disorderly behaviour in public is already banned while actually drinking itself isnt. Cos you have to remember not all people get drunk and than its complusary they behave disorderly.

You say it as if the smackhead is almighty and unless we cave in to their selfish will that the state give them free drugs , that they will as u put it "continue to beat grannies to death for £20" as if they were born without a willpower like the rest of humanity!

Again this shows your argument as wrong.

My friend there are policemen, judges and prisons to ensure that the smackhead doesnt "continue to beat the elderly to death for £20"......thats what the legal system is there to stop!

Alcohol and Drugs aren't alike, they're the same! The only difference being 1 is legal and the other isn't (I don't let 700 odd toffee nosed politicians dictate every aspect of my life).

Alcohol is just as adictive if not more than addictive than most drugs. One of my mates come off smack about 5 years ago after going into rehab (through the government not out his pocket), when I was visiting him in there the majority of patients were in there for alcohol addiction.

The scheme that I suggested regarding registering and giving smackheads their drugs for free is working successfully and has been for a while in numerous countries such as Switzerland, Holland and Germany

Well regarding drugs i say give it to them , has much has they want stop it out off there well fare check,,, and then when or if they commit crime like i said make jail a place they DON'T WANT TO GO , and for Teddy you left wing bleeding heart stupid twat , besides sturday night entertainment , Sunday could be better . we could strap down the rapists and invite there vitims or victims familly to shove a red hot poker up there arse, ,
Sunday night could be chop off the thieves hands and best off all wed night lottery we could have a wannabee gangsta's name drawn out off the hat winning prize banged up in a 10 by10 cell with 3 off britains worst crinimally insane all shown on ppv to help pay for the jails.

On the other hand i suppose you would rather give them a dvd and tele on arrival free subscription to sky , have them all play ring around the roses before lunch and anyone refuseing to give a group hug punished by taking his desert away.

Fack off moron , hope your the next victim off one off these thugs see if your so liberal after .

Rubbish! I'm thinking of my Nan and the other millions of OAPs who live in smack infested streets or I'm thinking of the bloke who returns to his car to find his £200 sat nav has been stolen or I'm thinking off the taxpayer who gets a poor service from the police force, because they're tied up chasing smackheads.....[the list can go on]. Plus prescribing drugs from the government takes the power away from the drug dealers

Locking them up after they've committed the offence is better than preventing the offence from occurring in the first place is it? not in my eyes

Coneye, with his slating of Teddy as a 'Liberal' sounds like some hick from the Southern states insulting Barrack Obama or any other democrat..no real substance to back up his arguments but by using the word 'liberal' we are to led to believe that Teddy is soft and his ilk have led the country to ruin...

Funny how many of these righ-wingers who call for these brutal punishments see the Arabs as barbaric and underdeveloped because of their penal system..yet the 'liberals' stop us bombing Iran!!

So the answer is more policemen. Its arguments like this, from people like you which is turning this country into a police state. Isnt it just better if the smackhead exercised a will, or was forced to excercise his will in a prison so he stops? your argument is that they be given free drugs to indulge themselves while the rest of us work to fund it.....just so they dont dare beat up a granny for £20 as you put it. Rather the whole system bends to them rather than the lazy indulgents pudenda try to stop taking drugs! I stopped so anyone else can

Who said no one was preventing the offence from occuring in the first place? Again ill tell you there are policemen, lawyers, judges and a legal system, huge subsidies from the nhs, an entire health service and counsellors like me at the beck and call of junkies to stop it happening. if the junkie refuses to take help like i took help to get cleaned up, than thats where prison should come in to help. Again your argument is based on the laughable notion that these junkies should be allowed to do drugs forever, thus putting a burden on the nhs, rather than get off their arse like i did and excercise a will in stopping taking drugs. Isnt that the best form of prevention. The govt is doing all it can, prisons offer drug rehabillitation as well. Fact is lock up these pudenda like i was locked up in a jail cell and have them go cold turkey and they wont die but they will be less likely to take drugs in a prison where there is not the same access to drugs on the street. Also if your so worried about your granny being beaten up for £20 and its a straight choice between the state and tax payers giving these junkies free drugs or putting them in prison where they are rehabilliated through counselling etc i know which argument most sane persons would support
