I'll give JT a pass, because he may need to get used to carrying 168. Maybe he should come in around 165, for speed. Maybe he's not used to the stronger (albeit slower) opposition. Who knows. If nothing big turns up, he's WBC mandatory and he's held every other belt at middle so it won't be hard to get ranked for the other champs.

How different things would have been if he'd got Pavlik out of there. He seemed to gain something in exciting defeat twice, but then Pavlik went and got greedy, took the payday, any payday, and got humiliated.

I think he looked good, more offensive than he did in his reign, and more subtle than he was in the Pavlik fights. He faded badly in the last round or two in Pavlik II so he may have needed to get through the middle rounds and finish strong, and he did well in the last two versus Lacy, in order to get his mojo going again.

Whatever happens in his career I think Taylor has a position in this instance, or his team do, put a name in front of Taylor, be it Froch or anyone, and I genuinely think he will fight that name, he has not ducked anyone, let alone Howard Eastman!

Taylor has a nice jab, can box tidily. But he got dropped by Lacy. Jermain is a "bean counter" style of fighter, who doesn't like real combat, but rather likes to pile up points repetitively; and doesn't have the assertiveness to do more than match his opponent's workrate. He looked weak from rd 5 on vs Lacy, after he got dropped by a right hand. A superfight, i.e. Calzaghe, is a bit in the clouds as Lou DiBella admitted recently.

Taylor has already been bested by Pavlik, and though he may have more energy up at 168 limit, he's not particularly strong at the weight, as he has spent most of his career vs light middleweights.

Froch has the perfect fight to get him up to world class, in Pascal. If he wins, he will likely have learned something new, and go on from strength to strength. Taylor pulls straight back, and is a sitting duck for a basic jab-right cross combination from a tall opponent.

Let's see how Froch does. After the fights, the picture is always a little bit different, sometimes drastically so.

It's the fight for Froch though, good money, good exposure and I feel it's a winnable fight. It will also make the man from Nottingham a bit of a name, and without that American TV you are little in this game.
I think Hennessy should make the fight in Nottingham though, Carl is the champ and he does not want to be giving any advantages away
