You are judging that on the 60 seconds before the cut, based on the fact Khan didn't get KOd? :-?
It was obvious to me anyways that Khan would win - I have stated enough times on this forum. He was simply too big and fast for Barrera. Like I have said, the cut hampered Barrera, but I felt certain that Khan would win regardless.

Barrera was not slow, hes 1 of the faster LW punchers if anything, he was slower than Khan and waited to counter as he always does, this Barrera's counters gave loads of trouble to Marquez and Pacman and I had him beating Marquez. The difference is Barrera could counter Pacman and Marquez but he couldn't counter Khan. The cut did affect Barrera but it wouldn't have made that much difference, Khan was doing the same thing to him prior to the cut and Khan's movement, speed, timing, defense were phenomenal.

Khan is a genuine challenger to Marquez now and if he beats Marquez to the punch the same way he beat Barrera to it and get out he can beat JMM too. Marquez doesn't have much over MAB at this moment in time
Care to explain why? In JMM last two fights he was knocking out Joel Casamayor and Juan Diaz, two of the top guys in the division. MAB on the other hand was beating a 25-17 fighter and a guy who was 1-7.

Khan certainly put on a good show and he boxed flawlessly, but I wont be convinced until he beats a young, hard hitting, top 20 guy. He has world class talent but its all about the chin with him and MAB is a guy who was never going to test that.
MAB beat Marquez when they fought for my money, look at my posts after that fight if you think I'm BS'ing, MAB scored the far cleaner better punches against Marquez, floored him, yes as of the moment MAB is probably more faded than Marquez, but they are similar fighters of a similar age

Agreed though Khans needs to fighter bigger, younger fresher LWs, but the kids only 22yo with only 21 fights, this is a massive win for him, remember who Hatton was fighting as a 22yo?
You are a tadge deluded young man!!! sorry mate but Khan beat a fighter who has had his day!!!

They kept going on about his improved defence

The hands were coming down more as the fight wore on .. and still open coming in and moving out.

It was a good name on Khans record .. but Barrera confirmed what anybody can see, Khan doesn`t punch hard enough.

This showed nothing new :witzend:

And Khan already had MAB rocked in the first 60 seconds

Khan, in my opinion, is on a short career track. His power's not good enough for LWW, so he needs to maximise his time at LW. Unfortunately, the top tier guy in JMM would beat him silly, the no.2 would beat him silly and even a limited slugger like Katsidis would beat him silly.

So, Frank's doing what he needs to do.

Well, there's rocked and there's...still being there several rounds later and being stopped on a cut.

MABs been past his prime since Pacman 1, but he was still good enough to beat Morales again after that, against Marquez he deserved the win for me, but he deserved the W and 18months ago against Pacman he made Pac miss allot and scored the better counters, now hes only had 2 fights since then and has faded a tad more but he still a world class fighter, I doubt you could find 10 LWs in the world who could beat MAB

Yes MAB was past prime and far smaller, but hes still MAB, the great defensive counter puncher with the most natural of left hooks. And Khan won every second of every round, I thought you all said he was going to get KO'd

This guy is either a complete retard, or a troll.
What do you disagree with NOOB? Care to debate, have you watched boxing for longer the 5miniutes? And did you name yourself after Ricky Hatton or the real Hitman Hearns?

Every undeserved step forward is a step towards disaster!
This is now; going beyond a joke. Hysteria is being ramped up again,
the sheep will now be begging for their hero to be thrown to the wolves ready or not,
and people with more than enough money already will count their cash regardless of the inevitable outcome :verysad:

Why? MAB got nailed and then retreated to the ropes and just covered up while Khan pounded away, not throwing anything back. Why else would he do that? He was clearly feeling something.

Ihope Khan doesnt think he can ignore Prscott now he beat Barrera. His net fight should be against Breidas

this is the problem with Khan, his fights always leave a "if" afterwards. I felt sorry for him actually that fight got stopped because of the cut as I felt he was going to do MAB regardless. He did look more mature and more patient, not sure about improved..apart from bringing his hands back to guard, will have to watch again to see whether he was tucking his chin in or not. Saw some lateral movement but not a whole lot.. the couple of times he had a chance to go full steam on MAB he pulled back so he showed he can follow a plan..but he was never in trouble so do not know "if" he could have dug deep and stayed on his feet...

Sad to see the end of a legend though, he had no business fighting at LW, he obviously felt he could tag khan at some point and put him down.

He was also still there 5 rounds later, can't have been in that much trouble, can he?

I've been here for just 1 month, and I've already posted more sense than you've managed in 4 YEARS. You are clearly pretty
stupid, I've laid out my disagreements with you already quite clearly, on several threads, and you still don't seem to understnd
them, so here I go again.

Beating an old, slow, small, blind, badly bleeding man is not proof of being good enough for the world top 10 at lightweight,
never mind the #2 P4P boxer in the world, who just beat a far better fighter than Khan in Diaz (a guy who is in his prime).
Anyone who thinks Khan's defence has improved is delusional, he got hit quite a few times near the end by the aforementioned
blind man. Is that clear enough for your tiny brain to comprehend?

As for the name, it's after Ricky Hatton, is that an issue for you?

If the cut hadn't happened I could see a different result. Barrera landed once and Khan didn't look sturdy with it.

But he'll fight for the WBO title in the autumn. (Khan that is).
That was one thing, Khan's punches never seemed to really shake Barrera, and in fact, when you watched the replays, a lot of them weren't really landing clean. Khan has blinding handspeed no doubt, but he's not a puncher.

Yes, and if Barrera hadn't been cut he might not have been "riding" everything. He was slipping Khan's shots nicely untill the head clash - I was thinking before the head clash "Barrera has got him".

He couldn't see the shots coming after that... and thats why it should have been a NC (to those saying Khan would have been unlucky to have "lost" a NC).

yeah, like fvck MAB beat JMM.

It's like when Jones and Toney wanted to target a shot Holyfield. i..e "Evander deserved to beat lennox in the 2nd fight". So they could justify not fighting someone like Lewis, 6'5 with a massive punch.

Khan is nowhere near Marquez;s level. Marquez improved since the Barrera fight.

Evander was no good after 2nd lewis fight. MAB no good since after the JMM fight. Barrera's last stand was hitting Marquez when he was on the floor.

That stood out to me aswell. At first, all those combination shots Khan was throwing looked very impressive indeed, until the slow-mo shows that very few were landing and those that did were just pitter patter shots.

Barrera was shot-to-sh*t and i think, cut or no cut, he'd have been unable to do much with Khans speed. He'd have been outboxed all night long IMO. However, that fight should have been stopped at the end of the first, if not the second, if not the 3rd, if not the 4th, but to stop it after the fifth when the fight has its first chance to go to the scorecards was just appalling. Should have been a no contest, no doubt about it!

I won't take anything away from Khan's performance because it was an accidental clash of heads and he was fortunate that he came away with only a minor cut over the eye and did what he had to do. But I don't think Khan would of put Barrera away before the end of the 12 rounds without that cut - and I don't think he would of been able to avoid catching a big shot from Barrera over the distance.

thank you. finally someone that makes some sense . i mean MAB had a massive cut which clearly has not healed from his previous fight. also barerra could not see a thing as the blood was blinding his eye. he could not even feel khans punches. thats telling you somthing then .also khan stumbled a little when MAB threw a shot at him. i just cant wait till khan face the likes of Diazs ,casamayor etc...he will get ko'd. then we will see to whether khan is world class or not. khan said that he shut the critics up no he has, not not with me he hasn't. you cannot clasify that as a victory. the correct word for it was it was stopped .stupid twat khan . i wanted MAB to win this damn. i mean the amount of booing the crowd gave khan got when he entered the ring was funny.

Nothing has changed regarding my opinion of Khan. I expected Khan to pick up the rounds with his terrific handspeed and for Barrera to take him out about round six. The cut was a bad one, MAB couldnt see and in my opinion it should have been stopped and declared a N/C. Basically Khan won due to an accident and for me that is an unfair win. Yes Khan is keeping his hands up more but he was still open at times, however that didnt matter because Barrera couldnt see him, so he got away with it. Khan to beat Marquez, dream on.

If mab had not had the cut in the fist place i reakon MAB could have blocked down khan and ko'd in him in 6 rounds. for def. but blood was poring down to his eyes which lead him to not see khan. when barerra punched khan he wobbled a little . so what if khan does face the diazs one day. see how punch resistant he really is?can his china chin hadle the punches of diazs. Juan will be on to him like a skin rash from round 1 if the pair were to meet .he is going to get ko'd again .unless warren gives a world title fight the easy way ,a vacant belt.
