Lovin' your use of 'jog on' - I'll have to plagiarise that at some stage!
I'm not saying he hasn't improved, maybe he has - I just thought in the overall context of the fight it waws difficult to tell, and that I felt there were more question marks raised about his inability to dent Barrera despite all the obvious circumstantial advantages.
Will hope Khan's involved with a more competitive fight next time out to see if he has improved.

Yeah agreed it was ashame the cut happened really wasnt it, would have told us more iof it hadnt ocurred, think he will have to take on someone decent next, due to his profile and the PPV situation so time will tell....either way nice sparring a few rounds with you on the subject

His gloves where up and he wasn’t as reckless as we’ve seen in the past so I would say their where improvements.
I think Khan could fight Juan Manuel Marquez tomorrow and the fight wouldn’t tell us anything that we didn’t already know. Khan has the ability & speed to beat just about any world class fighter out their but he’s also got a glass jaw which could lead to him getting blown away by any world class fighters out their.

seeing how he is much shorter than Khan I can't think even I can blame Khan for that

The fight would have been very interesting. I counted 7 or 8 shots that Khan was able to land before the cut..afterwards it was more one sided, understandably so, even then many of those flurries were missing or tapping gloves. Not really the beat down some people would like us to believe.

Ref should have got the doc in as soon as the cut happened, gave Barrera a round to do something, and then found out about declaring it a NC. The board reps, steward or any number of BBBoC guys sitting there at ringside should have kicked up a fuss when the action continued in round one. Sure, the fight was under joint WBO/WBA rules but those guys would sanction a Tex-Mex border knife fight between two crack-addled drag queens if there was cash in it, the board should have overruled everyone, including their own ref, and stepped in to put a stop to the fight.
The final buck stops with the board and its officials, who messed up on the night, in my opinion.
(chuckle) I agree. If Khan had been anything of a puncher and Barrera not such a tough nut people would be screaming about how dangerous it was to allow the fight to continue.........even though they did!

So Amir throws more correct shots, bends his knees more, sometimes remembers to bring his guard back.
Fighting a smaller opponent, it was emphasised how high he still keeps his chin up.
Khan is fast, Barrera short and slow. So Khan's speed was going to be decisive. This fight doesn't prove too much in the way of improvement. I just wasn't overwhelmed. Barrera was too small and slow to knock Khan out.
If Khan had been the one who was cut, I bet the officiating would have been handled differently.
Khan will do well if he can move and punch at a high rate for 12 rds without flagging. If he is that kind if high level athlete. For instance, if he matures, peaks, he might be able to do well vs someone difficult like Juan Diaz - i.e. having the speed to get out of the way & counter. If Khan will start fast, flag in the middle stages ie losing energy by continually making 135, then he'll get broken down by a good body puncher I'd think.

well. Khan boxed as I thought he would do. He is returning his hands quicker but I felt the changes also made more of a return to his amateur style.
The undersized, short, past his best, can't punch at this weight, too slow to knock out Khan was still able to cause Khan to lunge forward in the 2nd round after a left hook landed (& not 100% clean!) and from a right hand later on. I would have loved to have seen 12 rounds of this....with two eyes.

A nervous performance not unexpected considering.Plus trying to keep his head where Fred is trying to put it, didnt look natural but that can be expected. Got a lucky break, overall not bad.

No matter how good Roach or any other trainer in the world is, I cannot see how Khan's durability will improve. Granted, it may get better if he were to move up in weight, but that's the only way. Either you can hold a shot or you can't!
Guys like JMM, Juan Diaz, Edwin Valero would hurt Khan imo!
yes they would hurt khan .you cannot forget that khan cant take a shot on the chin.
yes he has inproved under roach with defence etc.. but he cant help with khans chin though.
i mean if he goes in the ring with guzman or diaz then hes going to get ko'd.
