That's a good shout, because Haye really landed some withering body shots against Mormeck, and Klitschko's stamina is similarly open to question. I would say, however, that going to the body against a taller opponent is going to leave him more open for counters than he was against Mormeck. Perhaps that's why nobody's tried going to the body on him before?
i look at it this way mate: (1) Klit has NO inside skills beyond holding. no slipping game to his defence, no real offensive game on the inside. (2)haye has to get inside anyway. if he lays back he is in range for the 1-2 which is wlad's basic game.

so if you're talking being open to counters, i;d say being on the inside andworking the body is where haye is least at risk. like hatton having to get inside KT's leverage where he punched best at range, i think Haye on the inside can work away without being threatened by much more than a double nelson.

i am no expert on wlad bu i have never seen him put together the kind of short uppercuts and hooks on the inside that would endager someone looking to work his body. hold them or push them away seems to be the sum total of wlad's inside game.

its not foolproof, i mean being on the inside exposes haye to being leaned on and tired out by the bigger man.

i can just see though, haye lands 1,2, 3, 4 big hard bodyshots, andwhen the big right hand comes over the top, BOOM!!!!!

Everyone should pile on this seriously, how much easier can they give money away??? Get in while u can.
Who is offering that Riddick?
Blue Square and 888 Sport. Mortgage time guys. I imagine those odds will shorten to 1/4 as the hype grows, get in while you can!

I take your point, and the idea of body work is a great shout because (1) Wlad never really gets worked over there, (2) Haye did very well there against Mormeck and (3) nobody else is making this point.

However, while Klitschko doesn't really have an inside game, neither does Haye. Haye does need to get inside the jab, but that doesn't mean ‘inside’ full stop. Haye is never going to be a head on the chest type of fighter, and won't be for this fight. He needs to slip inside the jab, deliver his heaver shots, and then either spin out or hold.

One thing that does concern me is that Haye is sometimes guilty of backing up in a straight line. I don't think it'll be such a problem in the Mormeck or Barrett fights, because Klitschko doesn't attack with as a pressure fighter in the way Mormeck did, and will not attempt the wild charges Barrett tried a few times. BUT! He still needs to be careful of that. Key in this fight, will be Haye changing he angle as often as possible. He needs to back Klitschko up, but he won't be able to do that all the time, so he needs to use plenty of lateral movement.

Again, you're right that Wlad doesn't have the alacrity or flexibility to improvise with sharp uppercuts on the inside and catch Haye that way, but Haye can be caught with the right if he hangs around too long with a body shot.

I agree, in general, though, that a few judicious body shots could prove fruitful. And I don't think that Wlad will be able to handle that easily.

Good shout.

I can see your point about Haye going to the body, but I just feel that against taller guys like Gurov, Bonin, Barrett and Macca he likes to go head-hunting because he has the power to knock them guys out. I haven't seen Haye Vs Fragomeni but I assume he went to the body in that fight, as he did against Mormeck. I believe he went to the body against them because it was unlikely Haye would've taken them out without softening them up first. And, Wlad's as chinny as they come but he can whack a little, so I can't see Haye getting into range that often. All it takes is one shot, quite literally, and he's the new champion of the world. I think we will see him fight like he did against Macca. Obviously a very quite first round and then look to land a bomb on Wlad's whiskers. I can't see Haye trying or needing to break Wlad down, because to be honest, Wlad is so fragile when hit, or when he thinks he's about to be hit.

His name is written with a W, not a V.
It can be done both ways, depending on where you are in Europe.
Its funny I've got a mate who is what we call "fresh." He was born in Gujarat India and although he's been in England for ten some odd years since there is no equivalent to "w" in Gujarati he constantly gets them mixed up and as a consequence I can't help but rip the piss of out until he threatens me with violence  :

Wirgin
W.I.P
Vedding
Wodka
Corwashier

are a few of his catch phrases. Anyway GO HAYE! :box:

This fight is over inside 4 rounds!! I think David's speed will be the difference!!

You could never rule out Wlad with his power though..I think it's a bit like Haye Vs Macc..First to land a huge shot wins, But like in that fight speed was the difference!!

I hope David wins though.. :TU:
