Whoops - one more thing Mr Payne!!!

I can assure you not only does "Buncey" read this forum but some prominent members of Setanta do likewise !! one in particular is very high up in the pecking order!!

So with regards to your emails - whilst I concede the comments need to be contructive - they are not only been read on here but also printed and in certain cases quoted in conversations!!!

We all know Bunce posts on here.

What are the names of the others at Setanta?

Names, please! Then we can approach him with a direct thread.

Nah I am sorry I blaming TV for this - would they treat a certain couple of promoters the same - no f*cking chance for fear of those promoters walking away.

I seriously hope this fight is truly fantastic - I also hope Carl Froch wins - and then watch the TV Execs get some serious and I am mean serious flack - whilst some may say Meaty Mick has gone in too high - I say TV has yet again let down the sport - out of principle will I f*ck renew my Setanta Subscriptions - they can f*ck right off - now by doing that as a seriously obsessed boxing fan and footie fan I am cutting my nose to spite my face - but as a matter of principle Setanta have to realise they have f*cked off a lot of sports fans!!
Spud, I hope you don't take this as "Spud bashing" - but when people here have expressed concern at Setanta's coverage..... picture failings, shitty repeats... you've begged us to be constructive and not offend them etc.

Now they cannot get a fight, they have no right in getting - they don't have a deal with Hennessy... why should Setanta showcase someone they might only show for one fight? And you threaten with your subcription?

Come on Stu, surely you feel Spud's anger???

"picture failings, shitty repeats" are minor criticisms towards a network that are doing well in thrusting some sort of boxing back into mainstream circles, but to neglect the opportunity of showing Froch/Taylor is a major mis-calcuation by Setanta.

Whatever their relationship with MH AND WHATEVER FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES THEY ARE SUFFERING, THE CHANCE TO PURCHASE THIS FIGHT AND SHOW IT TO A DEMANDING PUBLIC IS A GAMBLE WELL WORTH TAKING.

Well I would question the logic of not renewing the subscription of Setanta (it can get canelled at any time BTW) on "principle" for not showing one fight, when they have, as you say, thrusted so much into boxing.

I am cheesed off Winky vs Williams wasn't on Setanta, likewise the Lightweight PPV that was shown recently... Likewise Vitali vs Gomez, but they are still delivering more than anyone else.

And Why is Setanta getting the blame... Sky sports have the cash!!! They don't register an interest in such a fight.

Stu as with Mr Payne - you make some extremely valid points!!!

My answer back to you - is please read your first line again and then think what my obvious answer is - As you implied I got on the Setanta wagon right at the beginning when they had very few supporters - I kept on banging on about how we should support them and if we did we would get more and more boxing on our screens - whilst I fully accept the pot eventually runs dry, I will counter that by stating so does my patience - perhaps if Setanta weren't so guilty of paying over the odds for other fights in their eagerness to get boxing on their screens and thus outdo their rivals - then just perhaps they could afford to showcase a major World Title fight involving a British fighter - perhaps if they had a little pot there waiting for some short notice stuff then again we could have had Froch on fighting against quality opponent and I will repeat in a MAJOR World Title fght.

I will concede something - it is not just Setanta's fault - it is wrong of me just to blame them - Ben Carey on another thread has brought out some valid points bout the p*ss poor support from ITV - what a bunch of ****s they are!!!

But back to Setanta - Perhaps this is worthy of mention - a good couple of months ago I also hinted and warned "a major boxing broadcaster" was deep in the sh*t - people did not take me seriously - I also very clearly stated a promoter would eventually grasp the internet idea and again I was more or less laughed off the forum - I will concede I did not realise it would be this quickly that things would happen with regards to the internet.

Something else - regardless of how many "buys" they receive on this Froch/Taylor internet thing - if they get the quality right - I am telling you now the TV promoters will eventually tell the TV broadcasters to go and f*ck themselves - and if the interent broadcasters who Hennessy has got hold of are good - and if Hennessy gets the PR right afterwards - his brave and bold move this time around could possibly see him laughing his b*llocks off as he will be major steps ahead of other promoters.

I am serious when state I am going to listen to a quality commentary on the fight from Mike Costello on Radio 5 live !! :TU:

I don't think you were ever "laughed off the forum" for that comment, maybe the reason why there wasn't much positivity was because Setanta being in trouble is not exactly new news. When the secured the rights to the Premiership there were articles in the broadsheets saying it is a HUGE gamble for a company already making losses. There are other forums, in which people who DO know the ins and out have been predicting what so sort of figures would result in profit - and they have never hit those, not even closed.

I applaud the Internet, but at the moment it is simply not up to speed. These "official" streams have been going a long time. I remember britishboxing.net gave it a go, and in those days I was helping with the rankings so Kevin gave me access to try for free one bill - and sorry you couldn't simply watch it - it was just like watching a series of stills. Now I know it worked well for other people, so it was probably just my PC. Secondsout have also given it ago on a few occassions, now I don't know how the pay ones work - but the Clinton Woods vs Demetrius Jenkins one was terrible.... somehow I have it saved on my hard drive and I tried to put it onto DVD to see if that would work - but no, again it was like watching a series of stills.

Matthew Hatton vs Ted Bami is another one - improvement but still I had to give up watching it.

Fightnews also showed a few on a low rate PPV - I think it was Corley vs Darryl Tyson (or something like that) - I was tempted to give it a go, but at the end my experiences have been more frustrating than not watching it at all.... so I decided against it.

The german ones and RTE are okay, but hardly amazing - good for free off course. I just hope the promoters realise that for LOTS of people, its not going to cost them just a £10 but a new PC!

Regarding this fight - I think it is impossible to know the ins and outs of this one, because it is NOT Hennessy's fight. Who knows how much Gary Shaw is holding out for, and its a completely different situation to the Jersey bill (if that was what the :o about my post was about) - yes, has a tasty undercard but it is on at 2 am, ITV/Setanta/Sky MUST take that into account when making a bid - whose going to be watching the adverts at that time! I just hope Mick/Shaw see sense and relent to a delayed showing, cause it will not do well in the Internet... how many know about it? about 30 on a forum?

Thats because Hennessy still has some form of contract with them - does anyone know whether ITV 4 have the rights to the delayed highlights due to having the contract with Hennessy in the first place?
