An entertaining thread would be the lamest excuses in boxing history. Foreman had some bulldozers after Zaire.
Glovegate and jacketgate would certainly be on the list.
We’ve had it, Tone.

The glove/slaps probably edge the heavy outfit for me too, I mean first of all basically complaining that Fury was floppy slapping is weak enough, but then the so called evidence wasn't even from the fight

The guy's a moron. He says the ear shot didn't affect him. That was his best reason. SMDH.

It's probably on page 80 or something. I'd actually like to see it.

I wouldn't say "moron" myself. I'd just say full of sh!t. Perhaps I'm jaded but I expect athletes and politicians to be just that.

Moron. Wilder had a perfectly acceptable reason. He got hit in the perfect place and his equillibrium was ruined, but NOOOOOO. His costume was too heavy; Fury's gloves were tampered with; and his teeth itched. I have no tolerance for such shite.

Fighters don't want to admit the truth. They'd feel like a p*ssy. If it was me I wouldn't use BS like the costume but I wouldn't admit anything either, not publicly. Just say next time will be different.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Wilder in that fight.
He just got beat more easily than most, including himself, thought he would be.

We all know that. Except Deontay of course. Like AJ, he should have just shut up and gone back to work. While his excuses were way worse, "punch from the gods" was also a dumb line.

TBf it's not just him, I don't think he actually came up with the floppy slappy excuse, his bomb squaders worked on that

It's similar to when Joshua got beat. There were some wild excuses including him struggling to come out as gay, being concussed after getting knocked out in sparring etc etc.
I remember Maggie being in shock and denial for months after that fight.

Lol not at all, it was a totally legit win that I never denied, I thought AJ got a bit reckless and paid, taking a hard loss. I expected him to box more cautiously and win a rematch, and it went down exactly like that, of course other people said he was finished etc and would get kod again, and were obviously totally wrong.
Thanks for the attention though Ewster

I was pleased for you that you predicted a result correctly.
You'd been on a long run of calling the big fights incorrectly.
As a Scotsman I was mighty relieved when you threw your weight behind a Prograis victory.

Ya, for sure you could've learned a thing from me on that, I know you of course kept popping up with your chirps and chimes on AJ-Ruiz that were laughably off the mark, so I'm glad that you tried to pay attention and hopefully you will come on from it bruh
Great win by Josh Taylor, easily a better career than Mr. Crisps

As soon as Ruiz weighed in for the second fight I knew he was losing, most likely on points.
Fair play to Joshua for getting his head straight but Ruiz self combusted as well didn't he?

Ruiz has always been a fat f@ck, I don't think the weight changed much, he could come in the same shape as the first fight and I think the rematch would've still gone the same way. The first fight Josh dropped him, then got wild and caught following up and didn't recover well. Guys get caught, sh!t happens. Josh is simply the superior fighter and he adjusted and I think with that approach beats Andy in any shape

Joshua fought the right fight.
But Ruiz was a disgrace. Maybe a little harsh as it's a tough sport and he'd hit the jackpot and deservedly so but there was no hunger or desire left there.

It's a shame, I really liked Cunningham as a fighter.
I think he's always been a bit bitter about the way his fight with Fury ended.

Because Fury took it to the streets after they’d give it all the ghetto talk, which didn’t bother him in the slightest.

"I was on my way to beating him"
Sure you were, Steve, you sad bitter weirdo.
It's tragic. F*cking tragic. Embarrassing. Well, Wilder should be just fine in the third fight then. Nobody's talking about how the ref conveniently didn't count two knockdowns and took a point when Wilder was being f*cked up to buy him some time to recover. Lets not talk about the short round in the first Ortiz fight, or the bought judges for the first fight with Fury.
It was the glove! The floppy glove!
Man, anybody who knows how to punch knows that hitting with the inside knuckles is a stupid thing to do. Nobody does it. You punch with the top two knuckles to generate maximum power. Better an open hand strike which you can put a lot of venom into. There's loads of things that you can do other than that: use the heel of your hand, slap, backfist, whatever. But punching with the knuckles on your fingers? That's a god awful technique. I don't know any gloveless martial art where they even have that as a strike, let alone with your fist inside a boxing glove.
