Kinda sucks. Frankie gets screwed again. Now we have to wait for Conor to try and regain some composure while putting the FW title on freeze. He should have to go down and defend, then try to avenge his loss.

If this goes through, Conor gets beat worse than last time.... unless this ends up like a Leonard/Duran type thing where Diaz goes hog wild with his money and comes in like crap.... Guess that would be kinda the same shape he fought Conor in the first time though.
Dafuuqqqqqq? Surely he has to vacate then?
The rematch is going to be at 170... again.
Actually that has not been finalized as of yet. That is just speculation on your part.

NCAA DI wrestling championships are this weekend. How many do you expect to jump to MMA after they graduate?

Nick Gwiazdowski could make a heck of a heavyweight. He is going for his third straight title.

here is a match from last month

MARK fornicating HUNT!!!!!!!
I don't give a fornicate what anyone thinks the man is a god. Sure he has his flaws but fornicate he's entertaining. I only hope he can keep his head together and train hard.

Lombard as is the usual can't fight after a round, maybe Magney was lucky the ref didn't stop it but he came back, showed heart and kicked Lombards ass.

Jake Matthews looked amazing tonight, he took on a good fighter and won every round and if he had a little bit more experience he probably would've finished it in the second because he would've seen the effects of those body kicks.

Daniel Kelly has to be the worst fighter I've ever seen(ok slight exaggeration) but he just keeps winning for some reason. His striking looks horrible his TDD is obviously good but physically and technically he looked overmatched tonight but he managed to find a way to win which is what he does.

So glad Hunt is getting so much support. He's been around a long long time and although his K1 career is legendary, he has never held the lime light in this part of the world as he does now. What a legend

Matthews still looks big and i thought he was struggling a bit stamina wise. I know its the way of the mma world but i think he would do well to focus on the WW division sooner rather than later for the sake of his longevity

The red was very lenient in the 2ND round of magny/Lombard. That could have been stopped at several points.

Really like Frank Mir, might be time to hang em up though.

Jake Matthews really is the great hope of Aussie MMA. looks like he has all the tools, fans here have been crying out for someone like him to come along. Interesting too see who they match him up with next.

Also, mac Gregor v Diaz II seems pointless right now

If MMA fights were 3 minutes long, Lombard would be unstoppable. But the're not, so he isn't.

Mir looked fat and uninterested. Hunt is the man.

If MMA fights were 1 round long...

BJ Penn would be goat
Lombard would be champ
Ubereem would be the scariest man alive
GSP would still be one of the most boring champs ever.

I forgot bout that one. I remember Chad was taking the 2nd comfortably. But, I've forgotten exactly what transpired in the 1st.

Just got done watching last night's card. Very entertaining card. Thought the Case/Matthews fight was the best out of the bunch. Matthews has a very bright future. Magny just might be the most unassuming fighter on the UFC roster. Great win for him. And Hunt's walk away KO was awesome! Great card.

It's just horrible to watch :stop:
The heavyweight finals came down to Gwiz vs. Kyle Snyder.

Gwiz: Two time NCAA heavyweight champion. Going for his third/

Snyder: At 19, he won the world championships in freestyle wrestling (youngest American to do that). Was taking the year off from college wrestling to prepare for the Olympics. However, with about 70% of the season completed, Snyder pulls his red-shirt and enters his college team's season. However, he decides not to cut any weight, and competes as a small heavyweight.

Both men are undefeated this year going into the heavyweight finals. Gwiz is on an 87-0 winning streak.

Match goes into overtime.

Here is the last minute of the match:

I got three free tickets to watch the wrasslin at the commonwealth games in Glasgow. I couldn't even move them on...gave them away to a ju jitsu guy and even he didn't use them.

Those wrestlers are lucky there is another sport (mma) waiting for them because that sucks as a spectator sport.

True. Also the most boring facet of MMA. Big take downs are OK but lay and pray is horrible.

Mir looked horrible. Had a great career but needs to retire if he's not bothered. He's lost 6 of his last 8.

Don't rate Lombard. No need to be that muscle bound. Didn't he get done for steroids last year?

It is. I had it 1-1 going into that final round. Could really make a case for Matthews being up 2-0, IMO. Matthews was landing the cleaner, harder shots throughout the bout.

There was a while where Lay and Pray looked like it was taking over at least above lightweight. I'm glad the level of stand up fighting has improved dramatically as for a couple years I could hardly watch it. Wrestling is one of the best skills to have though, no doubt.

I'm surprised Judo is neglected. It's very effective against a wrestler. My pal trained Robert Whiteford in Judo and was very disappointed by how little he used it in his recent bout with Elkins, where lay and pray was a main feature.

I agree, Judo seems to be ignored by most. Not Ronda though of course.

And yeah there has been a decline in lay n pray (thank god). Remember Koscheck's win of Paul Daley? So ridiculously boring. Daley should have been more prepared on the mat but that type of win just isn't commendable in my opinion. People pay/tune in to see a fight, not that tosh.

That's around the time I'm on about mate, it totally turned me off...i didn't want to use Rhonda as an example because she hasn't really beat any highly skilled fighters yet but yes, her judo was really effective. Karo Parisian is the last guy I can remember openly being talked up for his Judo skills. Rab seems to have completely stopped training it.

Bloody hell yeah forgot about Karo! Gamburyan's cousin weren't he? I remember the Diaz brothers having a spat with them on TUF 5 because Karo beat Nick a couple years before. Good times!
