Sauerland is worse than Hearn, he has a duty of care to protect his fighter, both scumbags

Conor is getting a pass on this thread. He is to blame here, not the promoters. Has no one here heard of proximate cause?

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
the promoters are fully in control of their actions after the test, and their actions have been disgusting, though i agree the primary/originary fault is his, they have compounded it several times over.
it may be the most sordid episode i've witnessed in boxing, I'm neither as well-informed as some or as long in the tooth as others but i've been following for decades, and this leaves such a sour taste, when i thought my opinion of the business of boxing could get no worse, boxing keeps finding ways to out-do itself in a race to the bottom

He isn't getting a pass. He is a drug cheat until proven otherwise and I'd ban him for life no problem but he's just a fighter.
Hearn should have gripped this and shown integrity from the start. He still isn't showing any and that is what is doing most harm to the sport. He is all over the place and looks like a clown figure (a very rich one) who can't be taken seriously anymore. They tried to bury this. Has he buried these types of things before? We can't trust that he hasn't on his word alone.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
yeah it’s not Hearn’s fault what Benn puts in his body, some of the Haterz on here are unhinged
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Coward not taking any questions
Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Hearn says they made the decision to pull it.. then Kalle immediately contradicts him by saying it was taken out of their hands.
Both guys utter scumbags.

Regardless of what's happened. the fight has been postponed.
however, when it's rescheduled.. It's gonna be much more bigger than it already is..
no doubt.
Benn and Sims seem to be getting a pass here.. The promoters didn't fail the test.. It was Benn.
The promoters and boxers knew and still wanted it to go ahead. CEJ was happy enough. BBBofC are as corupt..
Had they just mentioned it in Sept, it could have been rescheduled already.
The thing is, BBBofC are not going to suspend Benn, so the question is, when exactly can they reschedule?
Does he have to get re-tested by VADA.?

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Nobody has said it isn't Benn's fault.
That Hearn and Sauerland have tried to bury the fact Benn has failed a drugs test is not an issue to you? That they may have done this before is not an issue to you? Fair enough if not but I've boxed and my mates have boxed, if promoters are complicit in covering up tests it's serious. Don't forget that Benn has only been registered with VADA for a few months. Prior to that all and sundry were saying he looked dirty, they have been proven right.

They’re promoters, their job is to put on fights not try and get them cancelled.jimmystone wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 12:19Nobody has said it isn't Benn's fault.

I've always said Hearn gets a lot of unwarranted stick and I still think that, he definitely has his haters who love to blame him for things that aren't his fault or criticise good match ups but let's be honest he's ruined himself here, from here or in his integrity's finished, he should've pulled the show, publicly stood by Benn until confirmation, B samples or whatever then see what's what but he chose to cover it up and risk the life of Chris Eubank Jr even more than it already was

Disgraceful fudging from Matt Christie on the boxing news podcast “we need an investigation to find out how this substance came to be in Conor Benin’s system”. Steedman just as bad saying Benn is innocent until the B sample is tested.
Stalwarts of the game like those two should be a bit braver and legal considerations aside they should be prepared to condemn Benn without contravening libel laws.
Very disappointed in them both

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
They're basically already planning to redo the fight which tells you they have already decided the failed test is irrelevant. They will blame it on a 'contamination event' or some other bullshit.
So now the circus will try and exonerate the steroid cheat and reschedule this joke fight for another day.
I hope the boxing public tell DAZN and Matchroom to fornicate off.

Aw fair play for Hearn to wait 2 weeks until he's exposed , do all he can to save the show including legal action before pulling it, boxers want to fight and sometimes need saving from themselves, Eddie and Kalle tried to make a fight with one guy juiced to the gills, they're a disgracedaz74 wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 12:33He should of pulled the show ? ….he did pull the showhandsofstone wrote: ↑06 Oct 2022, 12:26 I've always said Hearn gets a lot of unwarranted stick and I still think that, he definitely has his haters who love to blame him for things that aren't his fault or criticise good match ups but let's be honest he's ruined himself here, from here or in his integrity's finished, he should've pulled the show, publicly stood by Benn until confirmation, B samples or whatever then see what's what but he chose to cover it up and risk the life of Chris Eubank Jr even more than it already was

Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022
Only if they sign up to VADA testing again.
I doubt Benn will get his B Sample tested. He has failed a VADA test and that makes him a cheat unless he can somehow prove otherwise. He will not get banned because the BBBofC don't have their ducks in a line. If they had their paperwork in order and put an extra sentence or two in their own rules they could have banned him but they don't and only UKAD results count for them. They should sort that.
Athletes who have taken steroids and then used Clomid as PCT have been shown to still reap the benefits years after their cycles finished. We don't know for sure that Benn has used steroids and I am not alleging he has. I am stating that Clomid use is very typical following a cycle of steroids. The rescheduled fight will be huge but even if Benn has used steroids previously, again we don't know for sure that he has, any ongoing benefits won't be enough if he doesn't use them again. Eubank will absolutely hammer a lad like Benn IF Benn has been dirty up until now. Perhaps they won't re-sign with VADA?
The fight will be remade at a future date. I would ban Benn for life but there are many others who have done the same and not been caught. I would ban them too. Fighters are only fighters though. If promoters/trainers/board are actively involved in the supply of PEDS and/or covering up usage, test fails, etc, that is very serious and should be thoroughly investigated by a decent journalist or documentary maker and those complicit run out of town.
