eg

joyce beats parker who beats zhang who beat joyce who beat dubois who beat hrgvoic who beat zhang

so joyce > dubois > hrg > zhang > joyce > dubois > hrg

and

parker > zhang > joyce > parker > zhang

of course you cant simultaneously be a better and a worse fighter than someone. it's rarely as simple as 'this guy beat x, so he beats all these other guys around x's level too. it's nice to see a lot more fights between contenders happening. we've seen kabayel prove to be legit too once he stepped up
Blimey, its a fun group alright. All very different.
I bet with a full Andy Lee camp for rematching Joyce, and Parker beats him fairly handily. :bag:

Dubois rooks some big shots it was surprising but I have it more that Hrgovic’s lack of fitness is what lost him the fight. He was gassed after about 5 rounds

Hrgovic was busted up. He wanted no more.

There was a shot of him in the corner at the end of the 7th round, blood streaming from his nose and both eyes. He looked like a man who was about to utter the immortal words of Tony Kurz as he hung from a rope on the north face of the Eiger, metres from safety, but still out of reach "ich kann nicht mehr"

Do we know how much of the damage was done by clashes of heads? I had a few to drink while watching it but remember Dubois leading in with his head and then coming together a few times.

Wilder was a little unlucky vs Zhang. He got clipped with a hook while Zhang stood on his foot, he tried to complain to the ref about it and got BIG BANGED.

Although, that was always going to be the end result, he's gunshy & shot. 70lb difference in weight is crazy.

I think one of the cuts was certainly a headbutt. Dubois was liberal with it all night.

Fair play to Hrgovic, he didnt complain. it wasnt blatant butting but it was close.

No, one fight against Stiverne he used some lead punches and moved around, other than that he's never shown any boxing IQ to speak of

I thought it was totally blatant. He does it every time he fights.

I’ll be honest when the fight ended I was thinking that it would go to the scorecards.

I’m sure I heard the ref say after the second round ‘caused by a head clash’ while Hrgovic was getting treated on the first cut.

He did use his jab a lot more, obviously usually to set up his right hand.
He definitely changed the last few years.
I don't know if it's age, his change of trainers or both. He isn't the Wilder he was before, though.

He actually did step on his foot, I didn't see it when watching the fight live and I didn't see anybody mention it.
Obviously, that's something bound to happen when a left handed boxer and a right handed boxer fight, but that's still too fcking bad.

Doesn't change the fight he is not the same Wilder anymore. He did great, time to retire.

Zhang stepped on Joyces lead foot as he tried to stay outside numerous times in the rematch. Its a basic/early lesson we were taught in how to manoeuvre/control an opponent - I really don`t see an issue.

Pretty sure it's a foul, no? I'm not questioning the result, it's a fight at the end of the day and 1 guy ended up flat on his back. I'm just saying it was a little unlucky from DWs pov.

that's too advanced level boxing for Wilder
