Maybe. I'd back him to beat Joshua.
That takes nothing away from Joshua tonight though imo. People were asking how would he react to being in trouble and taking big shots. He gets up off the floor and comes back to win, that's how. I never, ever doubted his fighting spirit at any point. His am career showed he has plenty of bollocks and isn't a flat track bully.
He could knock Fury out, no doubt.
x2
Fury
should handle AJ fairly easily, but Joshua has a puncher's chance against anyone ever.

Wlad might fancy Parker instead.

No he didn't he fiddled his way to a win
He outboxed him, jabbing and moving his way to a comfortable UD. He had a much easier time than AJ, and was never close to defeat like Josh was.
It's different styles tho isn't it. Fury is never going to pull an uppercut that almost takes someone's head off just the same as AJ isn't going to get on his toes and outbox a good boxer.
At the end of the round that AJ got put down in everyone including me thought Klitschko was going to win. So now, like I said earlier nobody can go and say he hasn't overcome a gut check because he did against a tough opponent in a tough style fight.
I agree with the guys who said earlier this was the best heavyweight fight they have seen in a long time. I can't think of another at this level that I've enjoyed watching more.
It's not just styles. An aggressive fighter like AJ can still win comfortably without gassing and getting dropped, and that's actually what I expected him to do.
No doubt it was a great fight, and AJ again showed that he can come back from being tired and hurt to win, but Fury definitely handled Wlad better.
Not sure AJ will have to fight that hard for a while though. Fury is gone, already beat Wlad and would expect him to do so more convincingly in a rematch, Ortiz old and looking like shit, Parker too small and easy to hit....
I expect AJ to reign for a while to come

Why's Hearn unpopular with the crowd?
The rubbish undercard?

Anyone else think Joshua decided to go down? He seemed to think about it and just drop himself?
Delayed reaction maybe but it seemed like he chose to to me.

Hard to argue with that right now, unfortunately.

Wlad could have won that. He will rue not jumping on AJ when he was in Bruno land.

I'm not a fan but credit due to Joshua for getting through. He showed guts there.
On the debit side he looked like a novice a lot of the fight but he's a big lump and that saved him. That and the fact his opponent was 41 and well past his best.

Certainly looked that way, very smart if it was intentional. He'd have been spark out if he took another solid.

I'd be very impressed if he did, he spat his gum shield out to for more time so it's possible.

He foolishly allowed Joshua to get his second wind.
He didn't have to go crazy, but he really should have put more into his offence in the 7th and 8th.

Very true, but he's gonna stay Number 1 for a while yet..
Now, do we get Okolie and Kelly ?

If wk would have had the enthusiasm he had tonight, I believe he would have stopped fury. Amazing what motivation can do. He's not a regular "old" 41 yo as so many are saying.

That was a smart move too, he's good advice, I'd say he has better ring knowledge than he gets credit for. Good team.

He's well groomed, the wheels of the British boxing industry are turning with this one.
