Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
For me, this is won or lost by Wilder on the ringwalk. I've said before that I'd pick him to beat Joshua in a barn nine times in ten, but not at Wembley. I just think that Fury's better-suited to fighting with nerves.
If Wilder's afraid he'll be aware that he's not moving and timing Fury as well as he knows he can, and that gets into your head and makes it very easy to make mistakes by trying to force it. I don't really feel that Fury can take the fight to Wilder, but I think that Wilder can overcommit his way into serious trouble. If he's genuinely confident then I think he has too much.
Also, the reason I'm not betting on this is because I'm certain it'll be won on psychology, and there's no way to predict that until it's underway.
I don't think we've seen either under this much pressure before, since Fury didn't face it against Wlad.

It's won in the ring. Not in silly 'mind games' .Grilling Machine wrote: ↑01 Dec 2018, 23:00 For me, this is won or lost by Wilder on the ringwalk. I don't mean mindgames, though, I mean in-fight confidence. I think it's entirely possible that either man could choke under pressure. The fight's won or lost during it, yeah, but nerves have a huge effect.
Compare the two Bruno-Tyson fights, etc.

I think when the bell rings they'll both be focused. They're professional fighters.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑02 Dec 2018, 00:22I don't mean mindgames, though, I mean in-fight confidence. Wilder inside 5.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
1-0 Fury. Landed a couple of body shots and a good short right close up.
Re: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - 1 December 2018
1-1. Wilder takes the round off one right, probably. Not much happening yet.

2-1 Fury. Great skills, Wilder misses a lot. Terrific fronts and clean rights. Wilder right eye bruised.

2-1-1. Fury bleeding from the nose. One good right but Wilder lands a nice left hook. Fury needs to land more of his own work.
