I'm really glad I didn't pay for that. I don't like to not pay for PPV events but that was never a PPV fight and the fight itself was absolutely terrible.

The fight was tedious. Fury was making Parker miss mostly and landing flicking jabs. Can't really criticise any of the cards, it's a problem with the scoring system. If each round is very close if you think one boxer is winning almost all of them by a whisker you will get a wide score. Just because they are next to impossible to score doesn't mean you score each round alternately to each boxer.

I don't believe you should score depending on the direction one boxer is moving regardless of his success. I'm guessing it was the 'punches landed with sufficient force' was the problem for Fury. Fury clearly outlanded Parker though. Once he was comfortable he could outspeed Parker he should have adopted the stick and move style to land combos before skating away.

Fury has a horrible style so i'm not sorry to not to have to watch him in with top opponents.

Exactly my take. I had Parker five ahead in the end, but at least three of those rounds were scored on aggression and Fury not landing enough to negate the advantageous positioning of that aggression.

Parker was getting himself into the better positions and would've — I suspect — come out better had Fury engaged. I'd have been happy to give it to Fury had he counterpunched with some conviction, instead of looking like he was mostly securing his position for just long enough to move away again.

Just being aggressive shouldn't win you shit if you're not landing.

I could tell from his voice the home fighter lost - almost disappointed

Fury did show signs of a good chin, I'll give him that.

That's a valid view, but I think it only works if you make the aggressor pay. If your tactics invite aggression and you dilly around it, aggression wins on my card for its positivity. If nothing else separates a round, as routinely happened here, I opted for Parker.

I think Parker and his team will be chasing AJ for the big bucks next.

Tyson was busy.
His punches were hard enough to count
He didn't look like he was running and about to be KO'ed the moment he stood still.
He showed little bursts of aggression

Everything that Hughie didn't show.
Tyson's was a masterclass (boring tho' it was) Hughie's was an embarrassment.

Looking like he was going to get KO'd ? His chin is fine .
Instead of running he Tyson threw in the odd shuffle and dance move .
It was a very similar performance .

You have to return fire effectively to make backpedalling score. I'll score in favour of the evader if they're so brilliant that they win the round on energy expenditure, but Fury's tactics didn't tire Parker a great deal (no more than himself), and that's why I didn't score many rounds to him.

It WAS a very similar performance, but wherever the line is between trying to steal a fight and not deserving shit and outboxing someone serenely off the back foot is - Tyson crossed it and Hughie was well short.
