Only by a pound.
The extra weight is probably mostly muscle.

AJ was also wearing a big pair of joggers and a hat. Not saying he isn’t the heaviest of his career but he hardly looks in bad nick and he is lighter than I thought he would be, I thought this may end up being a rare slight out of shape blip but fair play you can’t deny he’s always been very professional with his weight.

Weighing about the same as for Takam before he slimmed down a bit.
Wonder if they are aiming for an early stoppage.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jermaine Franklin | DAZN - 1 April 2023
Gareth Davies is a right plonker isn't he, with his silly hair and daft excuses.
Dillian Whyte is an elite heavyweight - is he cobblers, just because he made it to contender level, doesn't make him elite in any meaningful sense. Utter Rot.
Joshua clearly has to make a statement, if he can't flatten Franklyn, or at least dominate him convincingly (Franklyn might be one of those who has a very good chin, who knows) then his time at or near the top is done. This guy is hand picked to look against, and guess what, he needs to look good.

He's a promoter, it's his job to talk things up, and everyone else's to take it with a ladle of salt.
It's not true. Stagefront is a resale site as well. There are no face value tickets left, well, maybe 10 individual seats scattered across the arena.

Does all that old school training and chopping wood usually result in a protruding gut?

In sport, it’s usually a side effect of growth hormone in bodybuilders. He’s only been under VADA since the 11th February, so being out of the country/out of competition prior to this I’d imagine he’s been on one of his favourite ‘cycles.’ It’s not uncommon for athletes to train in America not just for the better coaches/gyms, but also because they’re so much better at pharmaceuticals. Joshua would swear he’s tested all the time, but when he says that I just hear echoes of Lance Armstrong.

As far as im aware hgh human growth hormone is still undetectable in testing

Quite surprisingly they say Human Growth Hormone isn’t usually detectable in a urine test, and apparently clears from the body in 72 hours in terms of blood testing. Whether this is totally accurate I’m not 100% sure as athletes have been caught using HGH, often out of season. Jarrell Miller tested positive for every drug under the sun, including HGH and EPO. HGH is more or less wholly responsible for bodybuilders becoming mass monsters after the 1990’s, so is pretty potent stuff!
Obviously drug testers aren’t going to completely sit on their hands regarding this issue. I think the best practice they often aim for is blood tests and look for certain bio markers indicating HGH may have been used. Things that show up on biological passports. Possibly in some sports you are expected to do blood testing to support this ‘passport,’ like in athletics and cycling. But boxers only get urine testing as far as I know and no boxing boards have gone as far as keeping a database of biological passports.

I didn’t watch the whyte fight because I’d never heard of Franklin, but he went 12 so I guess it’s safe to say he has a very good chin? Because DW can hit…
So josh could be going the distance, or late - at least…..unless they both come out like gang busters - in which case can he crack hard enough to send musclebound AJs legs skittering?
There’s a lot at stake here

He’s pretty funny for a boxing promoter
Mind you I just walked past a local pub and asked her if she was going to have the fight on, optimistically explained it’s on the DAZN app and via a sky channel and she replied oh no, you need a dodgy set to watch that..
