The knitting circle on here believe that Joshua really, really wanted to fight but his team (who he pays) wouldn't let him.

Yet more evidence that Fury doesn’t really want this fight, then.

We will see. Maybe looks at what % AJ gave Usyk for coming here and thinks he should do the same. I disagree with that but would guess that’s how his brain is probably working. He is, to the vast majority, the draw.

ya fury's the 500million man isn't he

although he did at least fight wlad and wilder, i give him some time. he has shown he'll take dangerous fights multiple times. he's just a bit mental and does his whole routine before that happens

It's sad that it might not happen. Maybe for Fury, the percentages are all about principal. Either way, I don't believe either guy is scared, but Fury can make this happen if he wants to.

I think the upcoming respective Netflix series for Ronnie O'Sullivan and Tyson Fury tell their own story.

Ronnie's series will show the highs and lows of his snooker season, losing finals but also taking on some of the very best at snooker (Mark Allen, John Higgins and Judd Trump)en route to his 7th World title.

By contrast, Fury's Netflix series will show behind the scenes footage for his third fight against 40 year old Chisora (with 13 defeats on his record going into that fight).

You think of great sports men and women, and they prove their worth by beating and taking on their peers.

Fury, to date, has not boxed Uysk, Joshua, Ruiz or Joyce. He beat an ancient Wladimir at the end of a long reign, failed a PEDS test that same year, and boxed Wilder ( who has poor balance, a weak chin, poor stamina and hardly any boxing skills) three times.

I do give Fury credit though for going back in with John Mcdermott (who beat him in their first fight but was ripped off by the judges). I also give Fury tremendous credit for getting off the floor to win a few times, but his record is pretty thin overall and he has a track record of avoiding competitive fights.

I’m not up on snooker, but my friend is. I’m sure Ronnie has done similar money chasing things in China.

It was a temporary structure. 15,000 seater arena that took 6 weeks to build.

That was in Diriiyah.

They have a nice stadium in Jeddah and some other arena's.

Usyk-AJ rematch was in a Jedda arena.

They have a domed arena too.

When you read this, it kinda makes it obvious that the opponent was always going to be a low risk one, with all the other outside drama ie issuing of challenges, just content filler. A Netflix series where the grand finale is the star getting splatted wouldn't pass final approval.

I’d imagine the whole team is professional but Tyson is calling the shots and probably thinks he deserves a bigger purse than what’s being offered from the Saudis.

May now have the issue whereby he thinks he deserves a higher % for the Wembley fight.

They’ve been in negotiations for 2 months.

Stuff in China over the last 3 years has been extremely limited due to their covid restrictions. Won a big tournament in Hong Kong though.

Pre covid there were plenty of big money tournaments over there which all the top guys played in as they were ranking events.

I’m sure Ronnie played some big money exhibitions over there too but they wouldn’t have been at the expense of playing in the major competitions against the other best players in the world.

Why would they need a new stadium in Saudi ? Plenty of places there where the WWE go which are permanent arenas. It's not going to draw any overseas visitors so no need for anything big

Yeah.

Also I wouldn’t imagine what they pay is based on having a massive gate. They pay the WWE $50m for every show and some of them have had big empty sections of the arena.

Sounds like a smoke-screen.
