Canada started drifting away from the USA about 25 years ago.
Personally I no longer feel that they may "Have Our Back" either quite frankly.

Actually it will only be 47 percent of Lake Ontario that will now be called "Lake America'.

So it's Lake America on the U.S side but will always be known as and called Lake Ontario on the Canadian side.

We do deserve him actually. America has a tendency to f*ck sh*t up around the world constantly for other countries. Now we were stupid enough to f*ck sh*t up for ourselves.
That's the way I've made Peace with his 2nd term. Knowing that America truly deserves all the damage he causes, and frankly we deserve worse. We may escape without getting worse, but we deserve worse.

Canada has offered American's Canadian citizenship if they can prove a relative was a Canadian at some point in the past beyond just first generation. Bill C-3 was passed on December 15, 2025:
