EBF=European Boxing Federation. Some good ex-pro's on the circuit but most are absolutely shockingly bad and full of roids.

THERES 2 EBF . ONE IS ENGLISH BOXING FEDERATION AND ONE IS EUROPEAN BOXING FEDERATION . THEY ARE SANCTIONING BODIES OF WHAT YOU CALL WHITE COLLAR , THE PEOPLE INVOLVED WITH SUCH ORGANISATIONS PREFER TO CALL IT SEMI-PRO OR SELF REGULATED NOWADAYS , WHITE COLLAR AND UNLICENSED ARE INACCURATE NAMES . ALL FIGHTERS DO HAVE TO BE LICENSED BUT NOT AS STRICTLY AS BBBoC . THERES ALSO BBF( BRITISH BOXING FEDERATION) AND OIBA (ORGANISED INTERNATIONAL BOXING ASSOCIATION) . I PROMOTE SHOWS MYSELF MY COMPANY IS CALLED DUKERIES FIGHTCARDS .

I thought white collar and the EBF were seperate things (e.g. latter wears headguards)?

|Didnt the chap fomr ebf come on here stating bbboc boxers are only tested for roids in title fights and it probably goes on a lot more than people think, or something?!

maybe there is more roids than people realise .
also to whoever above said about headguards , no none of the 2 ebf 's use headguards , nor do any other of the main semi pro sanctioning bodies , bbf and oiba.

White collar boxers difinitely wear head guards.

I've seen a couple of 'white collar events where they were wearing headguards, but essentially regulation outside of the BBBoC is scant and individual promoters can do what they like

i personally have only ever seen amateur fights wearing headguards . maybe what you saw was non sanctioned amateur fights as white collar is a broad used name to describe anything non establishment . ive personally never seen any of the paid type of white collar fighters anywhere near a headguard , its not a case of promotors doing what they please , most descent promotors are registered with sanctioning bodies who aim one day to be recognised bodies but the bbboc make it difficult cos they think any paid fighter should be registered with them and no one else so they effectively want a monopoly .
back to the point , ebf , bbf , oiba whatever no head guards .

White collar boxing in my opinion is for people that work in offices and the like giving boxing a go wearing head guards and no one wins. Thats what I thought anyway? So Damian who is you LHW champion and how how would you pay a challenger to fight him?

i dont personally have the Light heavyweight champion ( remember im the promotor not the sanctioning body ) but if i did have the champion then pay would be depending on opponents level , venue size , etc etc theres a lot of variants . personally i only have one LHW and as of yet he aint anywhere ready for titles etc . i wont go into pay too much on a forum as its not a good way to conduct business . one thing i will say though is that my fighters earn more than many pro's at times . ive got a super middle weight registered to me that gets more per fight than his 12 fight pro brother .

Ian Cooper doing really well with them at the moment. Was denied his pro licence back after doing a stretch for violence but is fitter than ever. Some good footage of him doing a naughty lad from up in Sunderland on youtube. Type in Eric The Viking defeated.

I think you'd be ona loser with the whole scoring thing as a helluva lot of the non-ex-pros are clearly roided up, maybe not in their physical appearence, but certainarly in their strength in the ring.

Is that the same Ian cooper who got beat by Ojay Abrahams in 2001, also a lot of the pro's I do and have trained with have been in-side and they all get there license, so why is he different?

Yeah same bloke. Won ABA titles and Northern Area and Masters titles as a pro. Stood Jim Rock on his head too. Was at the Ojay fight and was a stinker of a decision to be fair. His life unravelled after that. Booze and then a long spell in jail but he's brand new now. Turned his life around completely.

So whats the reason he can't get a bbboc license?

Cheers for the replies.
Right so the gist is that it’s just normal pro boxing, but the licensing procedure isn’t as strict as that of the BBBoC.
I’ve just read the pre- fight medical disclaimer and it is refreshingly simple.
Do they really not test for drugs?

Also look at Chris p Bacons last fight. He was in with a complete begginner and Chris blew him away in sickening fashion. Could of been really bad for the roid head in there with him.

They do test but very rarely , cant really answer for the ebf's but i know if oiba suspect drug abuse they demand you supply a clean drug test at your own cost and that refusal to do so would mean suspension but some are less than scrupulous , but as i said its only if theres suspicion but what level of suspicion i dont know , none of my fighters have been tested so far.

Thats my point. A mate of mine fights in the EBF, keep telling him to get the opponents name so I can at elast have a dig to find out who it is... wouldnt fancy being in with Chris Bacon really, only gonna end one way for novices / people with limited amateur experience.

Last I heard Chris might be fighting Mark Potter!!!
I noticed some peoples opinions on the EBF and other such organisations - a while back I would have been massively opposed - But:
But wth the variety of these "semi" professional organisations and some of the excellent shows they put on - why not?
Okay so what if the standard of boxing is not too hot - some blokes want to fight - not because they are thugs but simply they want to step through them ropes and see what its like!! - sometimes 2 not so good fighters in the ring makes a good fight - and quite frankly at the moment some of the promoters on the professional circuit are making a rod for their own back by continuously avoiding each other, refusing to work with each other and thus their seems to be endless streams of totally and utterly sh*t fights on the professional circuit too.
Is it any wonder there are a number of "Semi" professional bodies cropping up? - professional boxing is shooting itself in the foot at this present time with a number of clangers - not only with the promoters not getting on but also setting unrealistic prices for tickets to the fans - whether we as boxing fans like it or not - the vast majority of people want to see 2 blokes in the ring fight - in fact the fans want to see a war - they have shelled out their money and they want to be entertained - so when they chuck their money at these semi professional shows - and they see 2 blokes slug it out, they get to see a bit of claret flying here and there and okay the standard in some cases might not be so hot but nonetheless the fans have seen a real fight - they go away happy and thinking their money is well spent.
The demise of TV and the showcasing of boxing on our screens the more we will see boxing going back to the "Small Hall" shows - if that happens then these Semi Professional bodies will already have experience in showcasing some good nights and thuse the professional circuit will have to up their game.
I like to think of myself as a genuine boxing fan who loves the sport and am extremely passionate about it - but its about time and some of you have been saying it for years that boxing has to wake up and change - the fans want to be entertained, they want to see genuine fights and if they do not get it in the professional circuit they will turn to the semi professional circuit to get their "thrills" even if the standard is lower.
Regardless of how much I think I am a fan and regardless of how passionate I am about the sport and desperately want to see it do well - the professional circuit behind the scenes has acted with a huge amount of arrogance in the way they have gone about their business - from the TV companies who simply have refused to ensure the promoters to up their standards - to the promoters who continue to think they can do what he f*ck they want and for me the worst culprits of all - the BBBofC who f*cking refuse to stamp their so called authority on the so called bigger pomoters to up their game - boxing needs to wake up!!!
Good luck to the Semi Professional circuit - I hope they give the professional circuit a bloody nose - this might finally wake the ****s up they have to pull their finger out!!!
