Groves finding the target with every punch. Towel been thrown in first round. Looks like a real good prospect :TU:

Good job by Groves, although I appreciate the opponent was limited.

Groves wins in one! Groves already looks too good for this level, despite his lack of pro experience. Agree the guy wasn't up to much but the manner in which he won suggests he can go much further. He needs rounds.

obviously Groves can only beat whats in front of him, and Groves is impressive.
The only thing is he's a bit wide with his hooks, small critisism.

Yeah he goes a bit right-hand happy at times, he likes that overhand right too much. I'd like him to use the left-hook more and as the opponent was in a crouch, he was asking for an uppercut. But at this time, with only what four fights(?) there is a lot to like.

Do you think Groves is looking to copy Hayes style? Low left hand.

No i think its how a lot of the ametuers fight when they 1st go pro low left and rely on reflexes i was impressed with Groves he looks big at the weight

I love the way Buncey banters with the presenter on Setanta!! Refreshing change from the Sky Panel, who seem like they'd rather be somewhere else at times!

Yeah its funny I thought that as well - also Haye tends to rely on his big right-hand as well. I can't remember any of Haye's 20-odd knockouts being from a left-hook bar one (a left to the body of Semiskur). I hope Groves isn't copying Haye's style, its important a boxer has his own style that suits him.

I noticed that when watching the replay Ian, he'll need to be careful with that. There is always the thought that he realises he can take the risk at this level and will adjust accordingly as he moves up in class.

He looked good but he did take a big shot during an exchange just after the first knockdown.

Love the announcer by the way...is he from a BBC period drama

Ancliff takes RD 2 for me, he got his jab going and Maguire is still trying to hook from too far out , not using his jab to set himself.
Ancliff landed some nice right hands as well

Good little fight this, Maguire - Ancliff.

Think Maguire just nicked the 3rd, landed the cleaner heavier shots, Ancliff is doing well enough though. Did Maguire seem a bit tired at the end of the round?
