I cannot see this one going on points.... Danny hits to hard and at the same time is too vulnerable. McDermott should have stopped him, and Danny was pretty close in doing it in the 12th himself in fight 1.

I went for Danny in the prediction league, mainly because he did control the first fight for large portions and I thought was unlucky with the point deductions..... but part of me wants McDermott to end Danny's career - cause its so frustrating to watch now.

imo, if Williams bothers, he can win by KO

Williams has been a dead man walking for the past two years and it was only a matter of time before he ran out of luck (it came against Sosnowski). Fair enough he's defending the belt he still holds, but I can see McDermott knocking in the final nail. Will be sad to see it, though.

I have to side with McDermott after watching the first fight & Danny's last match up. The way Williams ran out of steam against Sosnowski is worry if he comes in on the heavy side.

I'm going for McDermott points or poss stoppage if Williams is an unfit whale, partly because I wan't Williams to just stop fighting now.
Williams has had his time and when McDermott takes the Londsdale off him then he will have no reason to box anymore.

The only fighters who are going to wan't to fight Williams if he looses this, will be fighters who are struggling to make it up or are on the way down, and a journeyman, thats no way to go for Williams.
Enough is enough, this will be a good final fight for Williams and McDermott will take it on points if he can keep is chin down. But then what will McDermott do afterwards? He's at his best a British champion and no more.

Maybe we should just retire all of the old British lot - as it's getting ever so boring now.

I know I'm not alone when I say, I'm not overly excited about seeing this one, which is a shame as the Londsdale Belt deserves more.

Just interested in people's oppinions on what the outcome will be and more so on where both Williams and McDermott will go afterwards.

If Williams looses, I see no sense in him continuing in Boxing, I would hate him to become a stale journeyman after such an exciting career. So if McDermott wins, then what? He is at best a British Champ and would struggle to go any further.

What's your thoughts?

Rubbish fight someone wil win by a boring decision

With Danny "The Enigma" Williams you just cannot predict how his fights will go. Win in the first? Loose in the 6th? Win on points? You just don't know. But I've really enjoyed some of Danny's fights over the years and for his sake I hope he tells Mr.Kipling to eff off during training camp, comes in great shape like he did versus Gammer and knocks out McDonut.

I didn't think Williams would beat Gammer due to the Harrison defeat and his continued poor conditioing. However he came in well under 17st and fought great. It all depends, as ever, which Williams turns up.
Fit, slim and motivated Danny will win inside the distance, but who knows with Danny

Excellent fight - havn't got a clue who wins - like a lot of people are saying this depends purely on which Danny Williams turns up!!!

If it was down to "which Danny turns up" I would urge him to win and continue.... but the "real" Danny Williams hasn't turned up for a long time now - the 19/20 stone lumbering one has shown up in all his most recent fights.

Williams is totally shot now and been trading almost solely on heart for a couple of years. The Sosnowski fight may have knocked the last bit of stuffing out of him and I see McDermott ending his career. It would be a shame, as in his prime Danny would have done to McDermott what Skelton did.

John is from Horndon (near lakeside) in Essex, Danny is from Brixton.

it was good enough to be a main event in Dagenham first time, why not do it there again? or York hall?

Bloody hell! are you of the opinion we shouldn't be allowed any sporting events north of the Watford gap? its not very often we get a big boxing card up here

McDermott isn't a bad fighter, he is tough, very fast hands for someone his size and can punch - Williams is
past his best and if Sonowski can beat him then McDermott can certainly beat him.

I think Snowsoski is ALOT better than McDermott.

hey, if the card was down here i would love to see one that stacked... Moore, Munroe and Williams-McDermott? + the Facey woolcombe rematch (Facey wins again), its a stacked card....

but like i said you could use that fight to headline a show, its bigger than a support fight.

I'm so bored of Danny Williams. I feel he has always been overrated, although talented. The British heavyweight scene is terrible (apart from David HAye, although he's at this point a relative unknown at heavy.)

I like Rogan and he's a good story, but must be at his level now. Harrison, Williams, McDermott, Sprott, Skelton.....lord save us

last fight between the two was a corker and McDermott really should have won, I just dont know how Big Danny won with three points deducted, what fight were the judges watching?

You dont know with Danny because with any other Boxer you would say he's finished after the horrendous night against Sosnowski, but because he's Danny Williams he could put in a fantastic performance here.

I really like Danny, I just love it when he fights because you honestly dont know what is going to happen. But I think he really is running on empty now and I fancy McDermott to stop him.

Danny will probably be overweight and if he doesnt have the will and determination to win and gets beaten then I think this fight has to be his last. It will be sad to see as he has been a decent fighter in the past. You just never know with Danny he is so inconsistant but his best days are definately behind him.

Does anyone have details of the weigh in? How much did each fighter weigh?

Judging from their last fight, this should be pretty close but if Williams is actually bothered, I reckon he can do McDermott and win on points.
