Speaking from his training camp in Puerto Rico, Edison ‘Pantera’ Miranda sent a personal invitation to Carl Froch, the WBC super middleweight champion, to sit ringside at his upcoming fight against Andre Ward. “Carl - congratulations on a great win last weekend. You showed that you are a warrior and a true champion. With your win on Showtime, you have gained much respect from the fans in the America. Now, I invite you to revisit the US and sit ringside as I take on Andre Ward, the highest ranked fighter in the WBC. I will fly you over here and arrange for your hotel and ringside seat. I hope you accept my offer, and please don’t make any excuses!” Edison Miranda will take on undefeated Andre Ward, America’s last Olympic gold medalist boxer, on May 16th at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA. Showtime will televise the event at 9PM ET. Miranda, who recently fought at York Hall in England, had this to say as well.

“I have visited your beautiful country this past month and the great fans in England and throughout Europe know me very well. Although Andre Ward is a very skilled fighter, I am not looking past him, but I am confident I will win and prove to the world that 2009 will be my year. You and I are very much alike in and out of the ring. There is no doubt we would give the world a very entertaining battle as well as a very exciting build up beforehand. So, please take my offer and come to the fight. You, as well as everyone in boxing, know that the right thing for Carl Froch to do is to fight the winner of Miranda-Ward. And that will be me!”

Miranda should focus on Andre Ward first. He overlooked Kelly Pavlik and looked what happened. Ward is very slick and I see him outboxing Edison. He seems to have taken a far more respectful tone that usual. Maybe hes changed or maybe its the fact that Froch has a big set of balls that command respect.

i'd like to see this fight, i think froch would win fairly handily but would be up against someone who on national tv would put him in another thriller

That would be a good fight for Froch he'll be able to outbox him i think a mid KO by Froch and hes also a reasonably big name

I wish Miranda would focus on the guy he is fighting rather than Froch.

He did that with Taylor whilst at the press conference for Pavlik !

The ideal next opponent for Froch, should take the invite, get his face back on Showtime and defo would be a decent defence to make in Nottingham which I think Froch can win fairly comfortably and then move to a bigger fight again after that.

Great fight for Carl, this then Bute or vice versa....both winnable, probably by stoppage.

And both good names on his record.

Miranda might have some prescott type value for the first couple of rounds. We know he will land and after saturday i'm not too sure how long this free punch defence can hold out

froch beats him but her'll be worth a sneaky 10 to cover first 3 rounds

I would advise Froch too fight anyone apart from Bernard Hopkins,i really like Froch but Hopkins i fear,just might cause him too many problems.
