Jamie Moore V Roman Dzuman- for a TITLE?

No disrespect to Jamie Moore himself, but how was this fight sanctioned?

Dzuman has lost his last two by KO, against good opposition, it should be added.

Before that a draw and a loss, again against what appears to be decent enough opponets.

But still...

For crying out loud HOW is he justified as a challenger for the main European title.

His last fight was a loss challenging for a regional variant of the title.

Crazy. :witzend:

Surely, if anything , being alllowed to fight again for a title after you have been knocked out in a previous challenge for it makes it worse ?

As for being no worse that Nettey as an opponent for the Commonwealth, well, thats not exactly a proper title any more , is it?

I think this was just one of those easy defences, make a quick buck, get some decent exposure with it being on Box Office and retain the title.

I cant see Dzuman causing Jamie many problems, could go eight rounds at the most in my opinion.

Fair enough, a keep busy fight- It would be a decent enough bout as a non title 8 rounder, but a mockery of the concept of "defending the title of Champion of Europe."

well, would you rather get more money and recognition for a title fight

or considerably less of each for a non title 8-rounder?

also won't it help the sky ppv, ie certain # of title fights in UK leg og PPV

I'm sure the boxers, promoters and TV, are all happy with this being a European title fight.

It's just yet another bout that is contributing to the devaluing of titles. This is, after all, meant to be a competative title. Yet here we have an opponent who does not have a legitimate claim to be challenging for the title, and who, almost certainly, isn't going to win.

Point proven?

Good finish Jamie, and a strong performance.

But that opponent- was he even in shape?

European TITLE? :shame:

It was a gimme!

After all the crap he has had with that knobhead pulling out 3 times, he is allowed 1 gimme?

Everybody, jus cool!

Its a payday and a 1st defence - a gimme..

It wasn't as bad as accepting this guy for the European Featherweight title http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hu ... &cat=boxer, and then after that they somehow wouldn't let Martin Rogan fight for the title, despite being ranked.............

I think Mooresy was due one of these type of fights. Good PPV exposure, Euro title defence and ranking solidifer plus a few bob to feed the wee ones :TU:

Agree, 4 years ago I would have said NO WAY re Martinez.

But Mooresy has come on and Martinez (especially after the Cintron fight ) is a very winnable fight.

Bloody good win for J-Mo. Now let's vacate that title and get you in with Martinez. Although I'd personally like to see him destroy Spinks. :box:

Let them get the fight signed and vacate when he steps in the Ring ( if he has to vacate?).

After all the nonsense with the other guy I think holding the title until the last minute is the way to go.
