I suppose but he didnt really throw a meaninful punch the whole fight Pac was brilliant but De La Hoya did look dead at the weight but he did show heart

Oscar took a lot of punishment in that fight but sill wasnt as open as hatton if hatton had went on he would have taken a worse beating than dlh imo. If dlh was a young fighter he would have went on but sense prevailed and i admire him for that

DLH was much bigger than Hatton in every aspect and would have absorbed the punches better.

given that Pac took 7 or 8 rounds whatever it was to beat a man who supposedly "wasn't there" and who I heard was on an intraveinous drip before his ringwalk to regain fluid....it is pretty surprising to see how easily Pacquiao seemed to blitz Hatton.

Hatton said he was going to sit on Paquiao's chest and shock him with his power, and I believe him when he says he thought he was going to win, although I personally always tought Pac would win. But not like that though, no way.

I had envisaged a dlh style beating but was unsure as dlh was only a shell

I was thinking that Pacman's slaughter of Hatton might make ODLH think that he's not that bad after all & hasten a return to the ring! :o

I hope not he would just tarnish his record and may get hurt no point in him returning

No... but i did not think he had as hard a punch that knocked hatton out, i have seen very few punchs as perfect as that

I wouldn't have thought many knew Manny could spark out world class Light-Welterweights with proven chins inside 2 rounds.

If you did I hail you

does this mean they might try and resurrect the idea of Hatton v de la Hoya!!!

Since DLH took a roided up Vargas's punches, and a roided up Mosley's punches -- both of whom are a mile bigger than Hatton, let alone Pacquiao -- I think Pacquaio's achievement wasn't too bad. Just think: Pacquaio managed to stop DLH faster than Hopkins.

Now THAT tells you something.

DLh was always able to take a punch.

He said Pacman does not hit hard!!

Hatton has lost hs punch resistance and coupled with the fact he has not evolved one bit he was prime to get STRETCHED!

Don't be dense.

DLH could always take a punch, which is true, but he was battered from pillar to post.

I have no idea how you can say Hatton has lost his punch resistance, but I don't want to turn this thread into a retread of the other. You gave up on that one, so I suggest you take your argument there.

Hatton's punch resistence MAY have started to slide, but all other indicators suggest it's still there to some extent.

You're the only person here belittling Pacquiao's achievment by trying to imply it was against some bum, who didn't belong in the same ring and who had lost all punch resistance.

Most of us real boxing fans are in awe at Pacquiao's power, skill and agression.

I gave up?It was like me hitting my head against a brick wall, I was bored.

Hatton can not take the punches like he could 5 years ago.

Fact.

Most of us real boxing fans??

I am as real as they come.

Pacman is fast and powerful, but he has never knocked ot ANYONE lke that in hs life.

Oscar said he was never hurt!

OH well, a boxer said he was never hurt. Ooookkkaaaayyy.. I stand corrected.

And when five years ago did Hatton ever get hit as hard as he did on the chin as he did on Saturday? He would have been fighing Ray Olivera five years ago...

Now, if you're changing your story to say that Hatton's punch resistence has dropped, good on you, I suspect you may be right. But that's not what you've been saying. You say "Hatton's got no punch resistence". Big difference.

Slightly off topic but how good must Khan's chin be coming along surviving any time sparring with the big punching Pac Man.

lol I was thinking that too, I'm sure that pacman just goes easy on the kid. Probably works more on speed elements than power shots vs Khan.

Maybe it is but he hasnt sparred this time and im not sure how hard he hits in sparring also im sure freddy wouldnt want to dent khans confidence further by having him on his arse in sparring

Oscar kept a high guard and wasn't walking into shots whilst trying to throw his own the same way Hatton was.

Completely different fights, though I don't think Oscar's and Ricky's chins have ever been comparable, especially with the natural weight difference

Was DLH knocked out in 2 rounds?

NO!

DLH can take a punch!

Hatto can not take punches at World Level anymore.

And stop complaining about nonsense.

Pacman had never knocked anyone out like that in his life, oh wait, Pacman has NEVER landed flush in his whole career apart from last night? That must be the reason!

Carbo, are you still drunk?

And stop looking for support frommthe other posters, quite a few have said Hatton was crushed because he was out of his depth!

Crushed.
